Smile EP45-UD3R Problem With Channel Driving Settings

I have read a lot of good threads here on the Gigabyte Forum. The advise has helped me achieve a descent OC on my machine (CPU - 4GHz / FSB - 500 Mhz).

I have run into an issue that has me puzzled. While tweaking my memory when I set the the Channel A/B Driving Strength to 1066 my machine won't boot.

    Any ideas........

Your ram is rated at 2.1 - 2.3 volts (EVP = 2.35). Try higher settings and see if this helps.
I'm surprised that you're at 4.0 GHz with all your memory timings on AUTO.
Post a screen shot using Memset with the ">>" and SPD option tabs displayed, along with a cpu-z main screen shot.

Your bios settings still show Driving Strength = AUTO and that your running at 8.5 x 450 . We need accurate bios settings to help you.

Most of your bios settings look good. Here are some suggestions:

Advanced Timing Control (start with values in the middle)
    tRRD ----------------: [auto] <-- (3 -4)
    tWTR ----------------: [auto] <-- (3 -6)
    tWR -----------------: [auto] <-- (4 - 6)
    tRFC -----------------: [auto] <-- (52 - 56)
    tRTP -----------------: [auto] <-- (3 -5)

Static tRead Value ---: [auto] <-- (10 -11) 10 will probably work, lower is better
(this will have the biggest effect on memory performance)

Driving Strength ------: [auto] <-- 1066 Set this LAST, after all changes, and after you've rebooted

    Motherboard Voltage Control
    Voltage Type Manual

    CPU Vcore ------------: [1.3625] <-- increase up 1 click, possibly 2 clicks
CPU Termination -----: [1.2600] <-- higher is not always better, try 1.24 volts
    CPU PLL --------------: [1.5000] <-- increase to 1.57

DRAM voltage --------: [2.10] <-- increase to 2.20 (most but not all ram runs best at the maximum rated voltage,
see if this helps; your memory is rated at 2.10 - 2.35 volts)

Once your system is stable you can try lowering ram volts to the lowest stable setting.
Lowering Advanced memory timings will improve memory performance somewhat. Test 1 change at a time.

Thank you very much for your help. I followed your recommendations and my machine now boots with the driving strength at 1066. I'm working on tweaking my ram timings. I have my Static tRead Value at 10 and my SuperPI times are much better.

Again thanks for helping me out.... Best regards....

    Glad to have helped out.

When you're done with your tweaking, please post you're final stable bios settings for the benefit of others.
