I think LSDMEASAP was simply making an observation of the situation and making a statment of the first and easiest step to take to see if it fixes it. Theres no harm in double checking the obvious as things can be missed. I know you are understandably frustrated, and I think you may have taken LSD's Comment the wrong way.

I do not want to butt heads with anyone here. I know people are here to help but they did tell me straight up state I've not loaded the optimized defaults. Anyway, I just tried it again.. exact same result. Windows will not boot with optimized settings and requires a reduction in the multiplier to 8.5x and then everything loads fine. I've tried loading the optimized defaults without changing a single thing, several times now. I have tried loading optimized defaults and then have spent HOURS playing out with cpu clock, voltage and and multiplier, as well as RAM timings and voltage.

I'm just hoping someone can suggest some other adjustments to make. Like the IRQ settings were a good suggestion that I had not thought of, even though they didn't end up working. I really like this board, but it's gotta work with the card.

Some of he settings shown in post #4 are ONLY seen when FAIL SAFE settings are loaded, never when OPTIMIZED settings are loaded. You've been doing everything right, but it looks like somehow the FAIL SAFE settings were loaded.

The post I originally linked to covers stock and over-clocked settings. Applying these settings has cured most mobo issues unless there was a hardware problem.

I've seen several other posts where the cpu multiplier wasn't correct. The usual fix was to save the current settings, reboot, re-enter the bios, change the multiplier to what it should be, then save settings and exit. The only other fix that I'm aware of was when a bios flash was required.

I am not retarded and I can read. Making "fail safe" and "optimized" in capitalized bold text is not going to make me see it any differently. I am getting tired of repeating myself over and over and over.. :(

If the settings in the previous page are only seen in fail safe mode then apparently this Gigabyte mobo is very buggy because they were copied down after loading optimized, and they remain the same despite the fact I've loaded optimized again another 3 times since I was original told they were supposedly fail safe options. So either this mobo is incapable of loading optimized defaults or you're mistaken. I don't know how many times I need to say this but I have NEVER (in either board) loaded fail safe options. What -exactly- do you think is a fail safe mode only setting? What -exactly- does it need to be changed to?

I've already said there was a hardware problem.. This motherboard is not able to communicate properly with my pci wireless card. I do not need help getting the motherboard to set the multiplier properly. I know how to do this and the system works fine under default settings until the drivers for the wireless card are introduced. I need help getting the motherboard to communicate properly with the wireless card so I don't have to downclock the CPU. Right now Windows will not boot unless I downclock the CPU. Unless this motherboard just plain has unfixable compatibility issues, I'm hoping there is a setting I can adjust that will help with this.

Then I guess both the last two motherboard are defective because those are what they come up with under optimized.

Three of the things that you think are not right are set to AUTO. What do I need to manually change them to then?

If I were in your shoes, I'd be plenty pissed off at the problem.
The only reason I use bold & capitalize is to ensure that the reader reads it properly.
I can't tell you how many times someone miss-reads a post or misunderstood the terms.

CPU and PCI-E clock drives are now at 800 and 900 respectfully but it didn't change anything.

What do CPU and MCH Ref need to be set at? They're all on Auto atm

As easy as that would be this pci card is business class and cost a lot more than the motherboard. I bought it because I was tired of connection drops and I'd been through dozens of adapters that no matter how good, eventually would still drop every now and again. This adapter has never dropped a signal in the year + that I've owned it. If that's what it comes down to then the motherboard goes and I get a different P45 board because other brands work fine with this card. Since the problem is not the chipset, I'm hoping there is a solution for this board.
