    Default Gigabyte X58 Extreme corsair 3x2gb prob

    Hi, i installed a kit of 3x2gb corsair ddr3 TR3X6G1600C8D. In the bios it only shows 4gb. When i am in windows, cpu-z and gigabyte's easytune show me 6gb (that i have three memory banks with 3x2gb). Any help????

    Have you updated your Motherboard to the latest BIOS??

    do you have all sticks in the white slots?
    if so make sure they are seated properly

    I have installed the latest bios and all the sticks are in the white slots. I still can only see 4Gb in bios and 6gb in cpu-z.

    check the cpu socket pins and make sure none are out of alignment

    have you tryed one stick at a time to see if any are bad?

    I tested some other memory modules and i get the same.

    OK Well here's what you need to do. Get Memtest 86+ V2.11, Burn ISO to disk, Boot from Disk and see how much ram it shows in there. If It shows 6GB, and windows Shows 6Gb, then thats just wierd, but Id say that you are getting the benifits of the 6Gb but your BIOS is just a little dodgy? Email gigabyte or LSDMEASAP may get back to you here. I dont know if he is around at the moment but yeah. If windows says you have 6gb dont loose too much sleep over it.
