    Default X38-DQ6 Reboots when overclocking

    Hello

    My system is:

    CPU: C2DE6750 || Coolermaster Cosmos S
    Mainboard: Gigabyte X38-DQ6
    Mem: GSkill DDR2 1000PQ 2x2GB Kit
    Video: Saphire Ati HD4870 512MB || Samsung 275T+ 27"
    HDD: 2xSeagate 250GB RAID 0 + Samung F1 750GB
    Sound: Asus Xonar D2/PM
    PSU: Enermax PRO82+ 625W CrossFire X™
    Cooling: Thermalright SI-128SE
    OS: Windows Vista Ultimate 64Bit

    I never tried overclocking with this board because I didnt needed, but now I want some extra juice.

    Im having serious problems while overclocking.
    When I try to overclock, even 20Mhz FSB the system turns itself off for saving settings and then turns itself on and shows normal BIOS information with the overclocked CPU. Then it turns itself off and on again with the default settings, except the voltage settings of the M.I.T.

    I cant ever boot the system with overclocked settings.
    With default settings the computer is stable and cool 20+/- for the cores.

    I folowed your overclocking guide but the results are the same.

    Any ideas ?

    Thank you in advance

    0 experience of the board but ,ive read the chipset gets v hot.perhaps a combination of increased voltage and direct fan cooling on the chipset.

    My northbridge is at 40 I didnt read the value at load, but I think its not too hot.

    It should manage 20mhz more FSB.

    I'm going to make my last try in this forum to help me on this overclocking problem.

    I tried a great number of settings and no way i can boot with CPU Host Clock Control enabled.

    I even tried to downclock my CPU using 6x multiplier. And very conservative RAM settings.

    To note that I can use my memory with 3A memory divider at 5 5 5 15 with CPU Host Clock Control disabled with no problems.

    I overclocked this processor above 3Ghz in a Abit IP35 Pro with no problems, so its not a CPU issue.

    Also tried this settings to boot at 3.2GHZ
