Thread: 4.0GHz Suggestons? plz ty

    Default 4.0GHz Suggestons? plz ty

It may not be a new 3DMark record for me, but its a start.

(Note to self: Maybe I should try getting to just 3.99GHz in BIOS because it still shows up 4.00GHz in Windows. And wouldn't memory multiplier at 2.40 be 1066MHz @3.99GHz? Remember to try RGB on Auto too.)

    Successfully ran Super PI0 @1MB, 2MB, and 4MB.

Temps are fine but I'm out of vCore.

And I still need to run Crysis for between 20 and 40 minuets.

    4,005MHz SS:

    SWEET!

Nice, you are way above me, and I am on a X58 setup with crossfire!!! I only get 20,250 or so, depending on ram speeds, ect.

Do you just have the one gtx295?

Why not just go for 450 FSB? And yes, you can get better scores if you set your own timings manually, for sure (Especially tRD, which you should not need at 10 for your setup)

I beat you both with a single 4870

But anyway you got a really nice score.

Looks like I nice card FatGuy1992!

I have never overclocked mine at all to try for higher GFX Scores since I do not game. Maybe if I did it could be much better? I do know my cards were very expensive when they first came out, like everything : )

Yeah you should OC those 3870's it might then increase your CPU score as well as video card score (since they won't be bottlenecking the i7).

    Defaults?

    HA!

Run with 16X AA 16A AS and all Max settings @1920x1200. You won't score 12,000. I bet I still get 22,000.

And you can't get 11 FPS average on Crysis with 2X AA and all else Maxed out, and at 1920X1200. I run it at around 38 FPS average. My lowest frame for 1 split second would be twice the highest frame you get for a split second.

Yeah mine are on defaults, I only have the free version :(

So was that first score you posted on defaults?

BTW I wasn't saying my PC was better then yours.

Yep, I only use the defaults.

This is only my third gaming PC. And by using defaults I can compare the results with ones from my first and second ones. Defaults were all my first one could handle.

And I was almost out the door when I first saw your Post Fatguy1992. And there wasn't time to be as funny as usual. I thought I could pull it off in less than 60 seconds, but alas, I failed. I just luv Gaming on PCs and only started four years ago and I'm still having a blast mostly learning and playing games. What could be better?!(Don't answer that.lol)

But, with my first Gaming PC:

With an MSI 939 MOBO, AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3000+, and an nVidia 7800GT Video card I got the following:

    3DMark'05 score: (October 7, 2006)
    5,865 (woot!)

And I thought that was acceptable.

I doubled that score by upgrading to an 8800GTX Video Card on that same rig.

    Nice investment?

I almost doubled that score by getting this MOBO, CPU, and RAM and using the same 8800GTX.

    Nice investment?

But what was really so shocking (after adding this GTX295) was the tests I ran at 1920X1200, 16XAA, 16XAS, and everything else Maxed out on it. Because with an 8800GTX my score would drop 50%. But with a GTX295, and all Maxed out at 1920X1200, the score only dropped 15%. What a Video Card! (The only explanation I can think of is that 3DMark05 takes advantage of SLI.)

    Nice investment?

And, I estimate my first rig, with a 7800GT, and 3DMark'05 maxed out at 1920x1200 would have scored right around 2,600.

    And now I get 26,000!!!

Yes, yes, and yes, the GTX295 was... also...
    A Nice Investment!

Alas, the DX11 Cards are on the way late this Fall '09. And therefore I'm forced to gloating until they arrive.

    Ah ok.

My first PC was in 2002:

    P4 2.0GHz 478
    DDR 512MB RAM
    nvidia gefore MX 420 32MB

It was great back in its day.

My first gaming PC was in 2006:

    AMD 3700+ 939 @ 2.4GHz
    1.5GB DDR RAM
    7900GS 256MB

Then I have just upgraded in no real order since then.

    Got any 06 scores?
