    Default Need Help EP45-DS3L + Kingston HyperX KHX8500D2/2g x2

    I need the stable bios config for this RAM because it keeps frezzing/turning screen on and off resulting in eventual BSOD.

    CPU: Core2 Duo e8500 3.16ghz
    Mobo: GA-EP45-DS3L
    RAM: KINGSTON HYPERX KHX8500D2/2G 1066Mhz 2GB PC2-8500 CL5 240pin DIMM. (TWO MODULES 2x2gb)

    The kingston web page says the ram timings should be 5-5-5-15 and the voltage set to 2.3v. So those two things y changed in the bios, and also de multiplier to go from the default 800mhz to the 1066mhz the ram is supposed to run at.

    2.3V is only what is warrantied, not often what voltage is needed. I suggest you try 2.1-2.2, as I only suggest using 2.2V when absolutely necessary and if you do have to use 2.2 or more I only suggest this amount if you have a fan directly over the ram modules.

    That ram, KHX8500D2/2G, is rated to run 1066 at 2.2V as I thought. Here is the PDF, I do see 2.2V+ but that just means you are allowed to use more to push past 1066 not that you will need it.

    Most will do 1066 at 2.1 anyway, but you may need 2.15-2.2 depending on the quality of the chips

    Please give me your full specs and BIOS settings you are using now that are failing and I will advise back.

    You have tested this memory one stick at a time with Memtest86+ correct? If not please do to be sure you did not get sent faulty sticks. Do this test with one stick at a time in slot one, with the main timings set manually, memory multiplier set to = 1066, Performance Enhance set to standard, and ram voltage manually set to 2.1-2.2V
