    Exclamation [UD3P - Q6600] Overclocked to 3.2 GHz

    Hello everyone,

I just recently overclocked my CPU to 3.2 GHz (8 x 400). I ran Prime95 w. 4 work threads and after 27 hours core #4 failed. Is that something I should worry about? It ran perfectly stable for over 27 hours.

    Thanks everyone!

    Best,
    Jeff

hmmh dificult one, could just be an intermittant fault. I would suggest you test the same time stock to see if the core fails again just in case.

Were you running small ffts, blend or large?

Have you tried testing with Linkpack instead? May find stability probs P95 doesnt. You can also use OCCT's Linkpack mode or IntelBurnTest, they work the same way.

    Could you post your settings?

Also like said before, run it one more time to be sure.

Ya, after 24 hours most will say that is plenty stable, I agree!

27 hour failure could be anything, and I would not worry in the least. I would however go ahead with some other shorter tests like mentioned above just to be sure, but sounds damn stable to me
