    IBT is the first test I run.
    IntelBurn Test will find in minutes what Prime95 takes hours to see.
    Not always!!

    Prime95, OCCT, and Orthos have caught errors that IBT "missed" when running 10 or more IBT loop tests.

    Agreed with profJim about IBT not being fool proof.

    I have actually run 50 (fifty) itterations of IBT, all residual <norm> values matching, only to have Prime Large FFT fall over after ~25-30 minutes. 50 iterations at max stress on IBT can take 30-40 minutes.

    IBT is a good stress test, but I prefer to use it as a cooling check rather than just plain stability. Prime Large FFT has always been the most difficult thing for me to pass on any system, including an AMD X2 DDR-500 platform, a 65nm Core 2 Duo and my current Core 2 Quad. Use what you're comfortable with though and what you think best. As long as you test with a variety of programs, you'll eventually find any instability.

    I'm liking the results devoh is getting, confirms my belief that this board is as good as if not better than many X48 boards out there.

    If you can get at least 533 FSB stable, with a nice CPU over clock, that would be the ultimate. You'd have RAM running at its rated speed, with no multiplier possibly introducing extra latency. It seems a little different than what I believe D-an-W's goal is, however I may be wrong.

    One thing I've learned from overclocking on my UD3P is that although you may be stable with say x reference voltages at y Vcore with z FSB, to go higher or sometimes even lower, you need to completely re-do your x, and y voltages. It can be enough to make your brain ache at times, but it's interesting and fun non the less.

    Lsdmeasap's idea of a nice stable CPU and tight 4-4-4-12 might be sweet to run. Give it a go if you get frustrated trying to push the CPU, or even try it now if you desire.

    Writing this has inspired me. I have taken mental note of how best to set up a Dual core, including useful tips on maxing FSB. I may just do a blow-by-blow of my E7300 overclock when it arrives (if it's not DOA... eBay can be uncertain).

    Latest update, 24hrs Prime Blend stable and 20hrs (So far) Prime Large FFT stable with the following template (Thanks Psycho101). Temperatures are good with the average at 57C under Prime load (Central heating set to 22C), plus the system is pretty damn quiet too!

    What I need now is LSD to pop along and tell me just exactly what this RAM can do as he has first hand knowledge of it.

    I did try setting my MCH Reference to 0.760V with CPU Termination at 1.200V (Then changing it back to 1.280V of course) but had a 00124 BSOD soon after launching Prime so I left it one notch below for now.

    I have same MB and a E8500 E0 stepping... What was your method for getting to 4.1G stable? ie How did you increment up? I'm stable @ a 500FSB.. so with my 9.5 max multiplier I'm hoping to hit 4.1 to 4.2. Would love to follow how you did it. I get so lost when guessing what volt to raise. Did you have a set method?

    To be honest I cheated a little! I simply found a template using very similar hardware and created my own template from that which I have been using since. Obviously I have had a great deal of help from people on here such as Lsdmeasap, Psycho101 and profJim (Thanks dudes!).

    I am currently trying to get Prime Large FFT stable and my current best is 24 hours and 15 minutes before Worker #1 failed (I would have stopped it at 24 hours had I been awake).

    Testing again now with vcore down a notch and mch core up a notch...

    Lsdme's Crucial Ballistix Memory Review/Guide shows the settings he used with 4x1GB of memory where he reached 1066 and 1100/1160 speeds.

    459 x 2.40B = 1102MHz
    435 x 2.66D = 1160MHz

    Sooner rather than later, you'll need to loosen your primary memory timings to 5-5-5-15. Your advanced memory timings and static tRead values are currently set conservatively.

    I wouldn't bother with the 435/2.66D settings, but a test with the 2.40B multiplier should show you where your memory limits are. My system was fine with tRD = 8 at 459MHz and the 2.40B multiplier. Leaving tRD = 9 won't cause any problems.

    459MHz was as high as I could go with the 2.40B multiplier.
    My setup is noticeably faster at 494MHz and memory = 988MHz.

    I think you should get 444-12 stable at 900 before you go for higher speeds, that way you can compare them as most often tighter timings will be better then more speed. Of course that varies on how you use your system so it is really all up to you.

    As said above I posted full sets of settings for 1000Mhz for this ram, start with those and go from there. You shouldn't have many issues with those settings

    Hey, did you get a new stick from crucial or not yet?

    What kind of temps are you getting now? With my Zerothem Z120 and ArticSilver 5 on my E8500 I am getting 55 doing a prime95 "blend" with my cpu @ 3.5Ghz and FSB 495Mhz.. that seems high to me.. I have reinstalled my heatsink like 10 times, and should be past the cure time.. The one thing I don't like about my ZeroTherm Z120 is I am unable to twist it when I install it to help spread the paste. The darn screws prevent it.

    Those temps seem ok. And the cure time for AS5 con be up to 200 hours. so 9 days or more of continuous on time, with some total cool downs inbetween.

    Twisting the HSF a little doesn't hurt, but a good HSF with a tight locking mechanism will spread it just as well through pressure alone.
