The more important question is what was the ambient temperature. I can get a 48c load temp if I open the windows when it's -5c outside.
Coolermaster CM 690 II advance Case
    Corsair HX750 (CWT, 91%(80+ Gold rated @230V) single 62A 12V rail
    P55A-UD4 v2.0 @ F14

    TRUE Black with a single Noctua NF-P12 pumping out 55 CFM @ 19db .
    2 x 2GB Mushkin Ridgeback (996902), @ 7-10-8-27, 2010-DDR, 1.66v
    2 x Gigabyte GTX 460 1024MB in SLI (Pre OC'd to 715MHz core and 1800MHz VRAM) @ 850 Core / 4100 Mem.
Intel X25-M Boot Drive (OS and Programs) 200MB/s Read & 90MB/s Write
    Corsair X32 200MB/s Read & 100MB/s Write

the 120's have a slightly concave base, on purpose, according to Thermalright. I have no guts to try lapping the CPU. The stress while doing it would kill me. Heck I almost had a heart attack from my MB flipping and landing on the memory. I'm still undecided on lapping. I see lots of people that get no benefit.. but it's rare to see anyone have negative results. I do feel that I should be able to hit 4.2Ghz without my temps going into the low 70's during IBT runs. I'd love to see a BIOS template of grishkafool. His sig says he is running at 500x9... WOW

    We need details grishkafool!

Sorry, but I am still chuckling about that...
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------
My ambient is about 72F (22C). My rig is in my finished basement where all of our kids stuff and TV is too.

At the moment I am running at 4.005GHz ~
    CPU Vcore….………................................:1.35
    CPU Termination…..... 1.200V*...............:1.26
    CPU PLL…………………....1.500V*.......:1.5
    CPU Referen.…………....0.755V*...........:
    CPU Reference2………,,0.800V*...........:<<< .67% Of Vtt

    MCH/ICH
    MCH Core…………….....1.100V...........:1.28
    MCH Reference….…….0.800V.............: .74
my 9800GT is overclocked at 666/1665/1066

I have Chrome, Notepad (4 files), FahCPU, FAHGPU, Outlook, Everest, RealTemp, and a host of other background services going.
According to Everest my temps are:

    Motherboard: 32C
    CPU: 29C
    Core 1: 35C
    Core 2: 35C
    GPU: 62C
    HDD: 32C

That extra fan I added really helped out. I did it a few weeks after I lapped my HSF. At idle I saw a 5 - 8C drop and under Prime Load I saw an average of 12C drop.

Quite the opposite actually. The TrUE has a convex base, as many 65nm Conroe CPU's had a concave IHS.

    D-and-W

man the 500FSB is sweet. Did you get it to be stable? I'd love to go 500FSB with a 8.5 multiplier.. I'll keep dreaming for now.

Nice increase in RAM speed. Well done mate! Keep going if you can. Do you game? I notice you "only" have a 7000 series card (fine for the occasional frag fest), but you may still notice a performance increase. You would be mostly GPU bottle-necked though.

Quick update on my temperatures. I've now joined the TrUE club, and fitted a TrUE Black.

Prime Large FFT load at 3.9GHz (411*9.5) have gone from 63c to 55c
Small FFT at 3.9GHz (411*9.5) have gone from 60c to 52c
IBT max stress at 3.9GHz has gone from 84c (YIKES!!!!!11ONE) to 70c

    Cool.
