    Default UD3R and e5200 FSB OC

    I'm trying to figure out what to do to get over the FSB wall I've seen to have hit. I can run 310 FSB with no problems. Any attempt at 315 or above is met with errors in stability testing. I lowered the multiplier and loosened the timings for memory but it's still no go. Any ideas?

    (these are the stable settings for 12.5x310 currently)

    Newegg.com - OCZ Gold 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1100 (PC2 8800) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory is the memory. It's a 2x1gb kit which is all I have at this time. It is rated 5-6-6-18 @1100mhz.

    I'll try more CPU termination and PLL. VCore normally reads ~.015v lower than BIOS setting IIRC (I'll double check when I get home tonight) but it does not fluctuate according to reporting programs. Voltage on PSU are rock solid with less than .03v change on the 12v rail.

    My primary goal is to see if I can get to 4ghz or beyond without massive voltages. I am using a CPU only H2O loop so temps are ok (might put a 120mm fan over the memory+NB).

    I got the tRD down to 5 during tweaking. I set most everything back to auto except for most of the voltage settings. I can get 4ghz (12.5x320) to boot into windows but I get errors in Hiper PI and Prime95. I feel the issue is primarily voltage related but I'm new to the Intel side of OC'ing (long time user of AMD's).

    I've lowered the multiplier and the memory strap to hopefully isolate the FSB. I can get the bus to ~330 with more possible but I haven't tried yet. Memory can get to just 1000mhz but I've not tested it completely either.

    It's quite possible I'm not use to all the fun toys on the UD3R. My old Asrock DualSataII didn't have many voltage options for me. I've read up on AGTL and related info. It's quite possible I've raised something I shouldn't which may have mess things up. One concern is AUTO for memory... it wants to put 2.2v into the memory even though I can manually set it for ~2.08-2.1 with no problems. (I try to avoid AUTO as much as possible).

    Well my Vcore comments meant only that unless you have LLC Enabled your Vcore in windows should differ at Idle and Load, this is by Intel Design

    I will PM FatGuy1992 and see if he can come drop you some advice on 5200 getting 4Ghz

    Lowering the Strap will make things harder on you, so you want to use one in conjunction with your FSB or above

    Ya, Auto voltages is not advised especially when overclocking.

    I used most of your setup to oc my 5200 as well. I only did 3.6 for now....Thanks a lot !!!!!!

    I can't get past 3.93 (12.5x315) especially with memory much beyond 800. I'm having to up the voltage too much for the gains I'm getting. For 24x7, I'll probably just try to up the ram speed and tighten timings.
