Gah, no use in you telling us your voltages with your shiny new D0 :p

Turning off Hyper Threading does help ALOT though from what I've read on multiple forums...but I do math simulations and junk so HT great for me :) My 3.8Ghz with HT >> 4Ghz without HT for my usage.

Also, raising voltage really kills power/performance and pumps up temperatures - if you care at all. I run 3.8Ghz at stock voltages (see my sig). I can run stable at 1.312v Vcore and 1.295v QPI at 4Ghz, but I pay 17% power increase at idle (145W -> 170W) and a similar increase at load (305W -> 355W) for a measly 4% increase in clock speed. Not to mention the higher temperatures. At stock voltages I hit about 74C max (with ~26C ambient temp) but with 1.28-1.31v Vcore I am hitting 85C load for non-noticeable performance increase.

The percentages are a bit wack because they include the rest of my system (not monitor but hard drives and stuff), but they will only increase if I subtract those out.

Let's hear from some others with C0/C1 and this mobo...

I have been able to get 4GHz semi-stable.
    Vcore 1.45V
    QPI/Vtt 1.42V
    DRAM 1.56V
    everything else on 'auto'

4.1GHz will boot into Windows but BSOD's under load pretty fast.
    I've upped Vcore to as high as 1.51250V... QPI/Vtt 1.500V... DRAM 1.6V...
everything else on 'auto'... still won't handle load.

Does anyone have some good info on IOH core, ICH core, CPU PLL, QPI PLL settings?

What are you running now finally someguyonapc? I could tell you what I use, or what is considered Intel Max for some of those, and what is considered "Overclockers" Norm or max.

Let me know which it is you would like

    200bclk x 19
    Mem multi x6
    Uncore Freq x13
    QPI Link x36

    LLC Disabled
    Vcore 1.37500 (cpuz 1.344 idle; 1.312 - 1.296 load)
    QPI/Vtt 1.340
    CPU PLL 1.840
    PCIE 1.540
    QPI PLL 1.140
    IOH Core 1.140
    ICH Core 1.500
    ICH Core 1.140

    That gives me 3.8 stable.
    Anything I should mess with?
I'd like to keep close to Intel spec if possible and get at least 3.8GHz stable.
I tried upping bclk to 206 with the above voltages, but windows wouldn't load.

How do you get those Bios settings listed pretty like that? Typing in by hand or by letting some program extract it from the Bios?

Any idea why Easytune6 shows this on frequency tab?

    CPU
    Power on 3914Mhz
Target 3822Mhz (jumps around from there to 3813)

Also, DRAM shows 1.540 @ Power on... 1.500V Target...
Should I up this in BIOS to 1.54 even though I'm 9hrs Prime95 stable where I'm at?

What's a safe place to keep my QPI Link SPeed?
    I'm over 7GT/s right now... 200bclk x 36 QPI Link.
If I pursue this overclock will I end up with too my QPI Link unsafely high?
I've managed to stablize 3.8GHz, but I'm trying to get higher for fun and learning.
Should I maybe think about lower bclk with x21 multiplier (turbo on) to keep QPI down?

Don't worry, your board will stop you dead cold at 8Ghz QPI anyway, so that will be your limit (222 Blck) from what I have seen for all Gigabyte boards so far. It will stop at 222.3 Blck, except users who run Ln2 anyway

Higher Blkc/QPI is best for performance, where you want to run with temps and voltages between performance and that is up to you.

As to your ET questions, do not worry they always do that. It just sets and saves what you had when installing on the left is all. What is on the right is What is in use. The Power On/Target CPU Freq difference is usually do to Turbo being On/Off though

I have seen some very funky things with it, I once moved my X58 install back to a P45 board and it showed me having a Blck of 450 and a Multi of zero?

Once you install a newer version, or uninstall that one and reinstall they will match up

If you are stable at 1.5V in the BIOS then leave it set to that, if you have it on Auto then the amount you see on the right in Easytune is what is being applied. Check this with everest and you will see

    Thanks again, Lsd..

Easytune was showing 1.5V DRAM @ default BIOS settings, and cpuz SPD tab shows voltage 1.5V for frequencies up to 667Mhz... so I set it to 1.5 in BIOS and seems fine.

The overclock seems good... 3.8GHz stable in Prime95 Blend for 9hrs (then I stopped it).
Temps just barely passed 70c on all cores... average around 68c. Vcore has to be set to 1.37500V in BIOS to get stable.
Anything under doesn't want to do over 2hrs Prime Blend.

    LLC Disabled
    Vcore 1.37500 (cpuz 1.344 idle; 1.312 - 1.296 load)
    QPI/Vtt 1.340
    CPU PLL 1.800
    PCIE 1.540
    QPI PLL 1.120
    IOH Core 1.120
    ICH Core 1.500
    ICH Core 1.140

Does this look good to you?
I need this computer to last me a few years...

    One other thing...
I checked HWmonitor for processor power usage and noticed something interesting.
For both overclocks below I used the same voltage settings.

    181bclk x 21 = 3.8GHz
    Power 147.34W min; 152.7W max

    200bclk x 19 = 3.8GHz
    Power 109.67W min; 114.31W max

Can you explain why there's such a difference?
