Default IOH core, ICH core, CPU PLL, QPI PLL, LLC... please help

Can someone help me better understand advanced voltage settings?
My motherboard is an ex58-ud3r... bios f5... CPU is an i7 920

I'm most curious right now about IOH core, ICH core, CPU PLL, QPI PLL, but really I'd like to understand all the advanced settings.
I've seen some people recommend leaving them set to 'auto', but I've seen others say set them manually.
Also, what should I set Load-Line Calibration to?

    Currently I'm trying to reach a 24/7 3.8GHz overclock.
I'm having trouble getting over 1hr in Prime95 Blend test though.
Does everything else I need it to do at that speed, so I don't know... maybe it's ok, maybe I should tweak some more.
    I've had up to 4GHz semi-stable...
Can get 4.2GHz to boot into Windows, but won't handle load...

I can post back with all my settings later, but I already have an OC thread open... really I'm looking for help understanding advanced voltage settings.
I'm still pretty new to all this so take that into consideration...

LLC is up to you, and how much Vdroop your board/BIOS has. I use it and I see many that do so I think you will be fine using it

Here is my thoughts on all the voltages you asked about, plus a few

    Load Line Calibration ................. [Disabled]
CPU Vcore ............................... All up to you and your CPU Warranty. 1.2-1.5+ (Intel Max is 1.55)
QPI/VTT Voltage 1.150v ............1.2-1.45+ This voltage all depends on the amount of ram you have, the type, the timings, overall ram and CPU Speed, Uncore and QPI Speeds, and all other voltages used.
CPU PLL 1.800v ....................... 1.75-1.9 (Above 1.9 is asking for a shorter CPU Lifespan and generally not needed anyway) Intel MAX 1.89

    MCH/ICH
    PCIE 1.500v ........................... 1.5-1.6
QPI PLL 1.100v ....................... I have been told Auto or 1.1 is fine here by Gigabyte, but I find myself liking to use 1.2-1.3.
IOH Core 1.100v ..................... 1.14-1.3+ this setting depends on the amount of ram you are using, timings set, Overall speed of ram and CPU and of course other voltages a bit as well.
ICH I/O 1.500v ....................... 1.5-1.6 is normally all you need
ICH Core 1.1v ........................ 1.14-1.2+ (More then 1.2 only needed normally for extreme tweaking or if you have a lot of drives connected + a huge overclock)

    DRAM
DRAM Voltage 1.500v .............. << Keep within .5 of QPI/Vtt (Meaning if you use 1.35 QPI/Vtt you can safely use up to 1.85 if your ram will take it, most will)

I've got CPU PLL set to 1.7V in BIOS because there's no 1.75.
    Seems to be working great.

Would there be a reason to use more than 1.7V CPU PLL if I'm stable?
Could it cause any damage having it this low?
    I have passed 18hrs Prime95 Blend (64bit) at my current 3.8GHz overclock
and was able to do a bunch of other things at the same time so it looks pretty stable to me.

a PLL of 1.7 is an ok value to use, especially since your setup is running stable at this level?

    ;)

    I sure hope it's ok.
I'm still pretty new to all this.
System seems to be stable... just passed 20hrs Prime95 Blend and I'm online too.
Can someone explain exactly what CPU PLL does?
Most people seem to say raise it to keep stable...
Why would my OC be stable with it lowered?

What's the relationship between IOH Core and Vcore?
I've noticed that it can help me remain more stable with less Vcore.

It's not usual to notice that on a Core 2 platform (socket 775) but I'm not sure about the X58 chipset TBH.

If adding a little more to ICH core does mean a lower vCore then that's great as long as your ICH core isn't over volted too much.
