    Default 8GB EP45-DS4P will not POST

    I have the following configuration:

    GA-EP45-DS4P (BIOS F8)
    Q6600

    Two sets of Kingston HyperX KHX8500D2K2/4G for a total of 4x2GB or 8GB

    I can install either set of RAM in either set of slots on the mobo and the system boots fine. I can even OC the Q6600 to 3.2GHz and run the RAM at 1066Mhz.

    When I put all four memory sticks in, the computer won't boot into the BIOS. It keeps powering on and off. This happens even with the following config

    Q6600 @ 2.4 GHZ, FSB 400 MHZ, RAM @ 800MHZ

    Any ideas on what I can try? Thanks.

    Can you please give me the BIOS settings you are using (And which BIOS) and I will advise.

    You normally would need to make a few changes for 4GB+ in the BIOS, if you are using all Auto still this may be why

    This is Just a template I use to ask people their settings, pay no attention to the numbers in it, replace with yours

    Try these, set them with 4GB installed then save/apply/reboot to windows then shut down and put in the rest of your ram >>

    It still won't boot to the BIOS with 4 memory sticks (it does with 3 sticks).
