Here are the keys to the kingdom:

CPU Vcore….……….......1.xxxxx........: Auto <--- set to the 1.xxxxx value displayed in your bios
CPU Termination…..... 1.200V*.......: Auto <--- set to the value displayed to the left in your bios
CPU PLL…………………....1.500V*.......:Auto <--- set to the value displayed to the left in your bios

Even at stock settings, the bios over-volts Cpu Termination and Cpu PLL.
The remaining AUTO settings are OK for now.

Legacy USB Storage Detect ..............Enabled <--- this should be disabled while overclocking

With everything on auto, CPU termination and PLL will not be over volted. they may sometimes not be at stock values, but they won't be given loads of juice.

The FSB has been raised from 266 to 333 which will cause auto to up PLL and VTT, but not by much.

Setting these to the required values would always be best practice though.

Remember, if you change vCore from auto to any other value, Intel Speedstep will no longer reduce vCore at idle, and will only be able to control the multiplier.

As per profJims post, you can get the required tools from here:

    CPU-Z: http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php

    Memset: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...ad.php?t=92190

ET6 (useless if you set all your voltages to values other than auto, not a very intuitive program to use): http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Support/M...lity_List.aspx

No the FSB has been changed back to 266. I set the CPU voltages manually but still getting errors in Prime 95. Screen shots later today.

EasyTune6 is nearly useless, except for:
EasyTune6 --> TUNER tab --> ADVANCE tab --> VOLTAGE tab
which lets experienced users quickly determine if some of the voltage settings are in order.
I've caught many errors when it is included in a screen-shot, even though the posted bios settings say otherwise.

I see. I was going by your previous setting for 3.0Ghz, my apologies.

Trying to replicate what you have initially done, I loaded optimised defaults for my parts, and raised the FSB to 400, giving 7*400=2800MHz. CPU termination in ET6 is still at stock, and PLL is at 1.65. While 1.65 is higher than needed, it's not dangerously so.

This format would be very helpful for the screenshot. ET6 is optional but you may as well include it, even though it isn't that useful.

Ok...here it is. I went to the Mushkin forum and found some suggested settings but I still get errors in test #5 of memtest86+. Now this is weird...some of the settings that show up in Memset are nothing like the ones I have set in the BIOS. Could that be the problem? Do I have something on auto that has to be enabled to make these settings take effect?

    They show up fine.

Could you also post a screenshot of the SPD window of Memset, accessed by hitting the SPD button on the main window. This will show what advanced timings your memory manufacturer has specified for your RAM.
