there is one 45 multiplier thats supposed to not work very well generally,it was mentioned in some review of this board. All I can remember 100% is that it only occurs once in the available multipliers so its not 2:66 .Id go check which one but shouldnt be hard to find :)
The limit for our cpu Q8200 on air is supposed to be in and around 520mhz fsb(but more in terms of cpu speed) thats the limit that was mentioned in an article..ill go find it.
Bah its not on favorites..i linked it in some old post of mine here..ill go check.

    Ahh here we go..:)http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/861127

Mind you this guy got hold of some expensive memory ,and put the pedal to the metal.
Hes also running a "open air rig" which is ok but from the amount of dust n crud that seems to block my filters id have to clean things every few days.

    n specifically re psycho:
    1. taking as a given my particular memory doesnt like running above 1015 mhz(well known) and not suprising since its only 800 rated .
2.I tried to get it as high as it would go..my best boot into windows was at 1060 mhz and the only multiplier that would get it there was 2:66D even then I had to immediately change tRef using memset to over 4000..and it wouldnt test anything much at all.
I just really wanted to see if the mem would do 1066.. .1060 was close enough and the voltage needed was well, lets just say v high lol.

Angry Re: (G)MCH Strapping / Frequency Latch

    ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

In my quest for the gold ring.. I somehow corrupted my windows install. It locked @ 4.2 Ghz and I had to power cycle...

It works in safe mode and in Linux.. but nothing will start in normal mode. I tricked it into doing a chkdsk, no help. Does this happen often? Anyway to help prevent a corruption of windows in the future?? Or was mine just a 1/100 fluke?

Um go easy on the clocking jumps..initiate windows repair on boot up it should fix it up.
Yeh i had to do that a couple of times initially..went too far too fast.Oh get your optimum defaults loaded before trying to fix things.
Do a system restore if repair isnt happening.
Ive never had to reinstall windows xp or vista yet (touches plastic).Yeh win 98 and millenium edition a lot!
Id say keep fsb 500 or below while seeing what you can get on the items with testing initially too.

Thanks Kick it appears that the restore point idea worked. I had to beat on it to get it to go that far.. maybe I'll go a little slower this time

I am going to burn test it over night @ 495 FSB, no CPU overclock. Just to make sure on my memory settings.

Kick, that link you posted does not show any multiplier issues with P45? Mind quoting for me what you meant?

Mmm I should have spaced my paragraphs better

    should have been totally seperate...

the article i linked is more general on a 8200 for psycho and possibly the dual for devoh.

Ill have a qwik check on my favorites to see if i can find the mbrd review mentioning the multiplier if its there

Its in this article under the ram section
    http://www.awardfabrik.de/forum/showthread.php?p=245018

edit nb Im not recommending anyone test the max settings in the article ^This guy is also "benching" and the values seem v high + were also not v interested in sub zero triple phasing or whatever here:),but thats where I saw it mentioned.
Nice pics of board top voltage measurement points tho .

What would ya'll recommend to have me set the SMM? If i set my FSB to 480. making my CPU 3.6 ghz (480x7.5), i have a Q9300

    Ram: CORSAIR XMS3 DHX 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)

im trying to hit 1600mhz or more.

im assuming i would have to use 4.00D, but how would that equate?

3.33D will get you closest to the rated 1600. Using 4.0D may not go too well, unless your modules are good overclockers.

You guys have 3.33D and 4.00D mulripliers? Is it for DDR3 configurations only or DDR2 too?
I wonder how many others I don't have.

    3.33D is for DDR3 1066 on a 333 FSB or DDR-1333 on a 400 FSB (QX9770). 4.0D is for DDR-1333 on a 333 FSB

The D strap multi's are probably on DDR3 boards only. I have a 3.33 multi to reach DDR-667 on a 200 FSB (P4's and E5xxx) and a 4.00 multi to do DDR-800 on a 200 FSB or 1066 on a 266 FSB. Straps available for certain multi's do depend on the type of RAM the board is designed to use.
