With cpu host frequency = 400MHz, you need to set System Memory Multiplier to 2.66D to run your your memory at 1066 speeds (2.66 x 400 = 1066).

Please post the bios changes that you made that resulted in the 12xx memory speeds.

It's perfectly normal. Ram speed is calculated as a multiple of the FSB. At 400, for 1066 you need to set a 2.66D System Memory Multiplier. For 800, it should be 2.00D.

You need to set the FSB to 400 first, then adjust your RAM multi.

ok lets try this. I'll set the FSB to 400. Save, reboot. Set mem @ 400...save reboot. Now at 400 for the mem. What should the rest of the numbers be? I want a starting point for all the values. Then I can work it from there. Or I can leave the mem@ 333x 3.2 and go from there. Are there any benefits from either mem@ 400 or 333? And one other thing. Why are values different in mem set from what I manually set in bios? Also, thanks for being patient with me lol.

ok, thats where I messed up. Now everything else in the advanced timings is auto. Benchmarks with Everest seem really good except for mem read. Its a bit slow. Every other mem bench there has this flying. should I leave well enough alone?

Post your current bios settings and include a screenshot with Memset using the SPD and ">>" tabs.
There are some additional memory tweaks that will improve your memory scores and performance.

Don't tweak anything at the minute.

You said that when you ran Prime95, the system was unstable. Run it again over night. If it passes without error, then you can start tweaking RAM timings etc.

Have you rerun extended Prime95 tests since your #8 post?
If not, you need to rerun the test before you make additional changes, just like Psycho said.

Any time you tweak your system, it's necessary to repeat the stability tests.

Ok. I think I may have found the culprit as to why It keeps rebooting. Well, to make a long story short, I was trying to figure out why and just tapped the side of my case and the power went off. Here come to figure, the power cord that goes from the ac outlet to the power supply is VERY loose. Like the molded end is to small for the recepticle on the psu. Unfortunately I'm not home this weekend because of prior plans and can't get a new cord. But will get it Monday and go from there. That explains why with the same settings it was stable then all of a sudden not stable. Once I get the cord, I'll come back and post.

You could try one of two things if you don't have a replacement cord:

In the UK, the PC PSU chord is exactly the same as the chords that come with kettles. If they're the same where you live, swap the PSU chord for the kettle one. If your countries plugs have fuses in them (they do in the UK) then make sure the lead has a minimum of a 10 Amp fuse in it, or the fuse may blow.

Also you should have an identical cable powering your monitor (in the UK they're the same), so try swapping them if this is the case. Again if the plugs are fused, you may need to swap the fuses around. My PSU chord has a 10 Amp fuse inside the plug, where as my monitoy chord has a 5 Amp.

Safety first, so as always, be careful to follow good practice when dealing with AC power. Also if using the kettle lead, make yourself a tea / coffee first.
