    Hey guys, I don't mean to be a pain in the butt, but I need some help. My pc is still shutting down and restarting. Not like it used to,maybe 2x per day. I can't explain it, but I don't thing its a mem timing issue anymore. I think its the voltages of the MCH. I up the voltage a little and its seems more stable. But how high is to much? First is there a program to show me the true voltages as opposed to what the bios settings are? I'm comparing it to memset. Like the timmings for the bios aren't whats actually being set. Do voltages work the same way? And second, the MCH voltage...is there a range? Like whats the most it should be? Don't want to fry anything. You can look at the template at the start of this thread...I updated the values. Thanks.

    You'll be OK to add voltage on the MCH for a bit longer, if raising it makes you stable. The absolute maximum I'd ever ever set it to, cooling being great is 1.500V. Note 1.500V should never be needed, and only used for some super duper high FSB overclock, like 620 FSB.

    You can comfortably give the MCH up to 1.36-1.4V if you absolutly need to. In all honesty it doesn't get very warm, and the heatsinks are great.

    Most of the voltages you set in the BIOS are pretty accurate. There is obviously the usual Vdrop and Vdroop on Vcore, RAM is a little lower than entered values, but other voltages are pretty much bang on. PLL gets slightly (really slightly) over volted, but that's about it. I'm basing this info on what I read at the Xtreme Systems official EP45-UD3x thread found here: ** Official ** Gigabyte UD3 P45 Series -- EP45-UD3 / EP45-UD3R / EP45-UD3P - XtremeSystems Forums

    Memset is known for showing different values of some timings. Also note that some timings listed in Memset aren't available for editing in the BIOS. Have a little look here as to what the differences mean: http://forums.tweaktown.com/f69/memo...vs-bios-27283/ .

    I am new here and was hopping someone could help me find what i am missing.

    I am also using 2 X F2-8500CL5D-4GBPK on my EP45-UD3P bios F9.
    If i run 333 and 2.40b strap i can run stable right up to 1080 5-5-5-15 pl of 8
    which is great but as soon as i go to 2.00b or 2.00d i cant get past 900 5-6-6-18 pl of 10 stable. I have tested 1 pair on its own and two pairs with the exact same results.

    These settings let me boot into windows but prime blend fails almost instantly. I have tried bios F4 and F6 and both making booting difficult.
    I can boot into windows @ 500Fsb but blend fails instantly.
    If i can sort this problem out i could start running my cpu @ 4.5Ghz

    If i left any info out please tell me what you need.

    Here is my ram running fine @ 1080 with all the timings used.

    Have Primed95 blended it for 9 Hours at this but i cant find the screenshot.

    Different dividers can sometimes require different reference voltages and different MCH voltage. Of the two dividers, I would work on getting 2.00D stable, as likely it will both perform a bit better and possibly let you set tighter RAM sub-timings and Static tRead.

    With the 2.00D divider set, reduce your CPU Termination to 1.200V, then set MCH ref to 0.740V and set CPU Term back to where it was. Leave MCH Core at 1.34 for now, but try other values up and down of that. Sometimes less is better than more on the MCH.

    Didnt boot. i even tried one stick only and it still just switches on and off and on and off etc,etc.

    Can anyone with one or two pairs of GSKILL F2-8500CL5D-4GBPK test 400 strap and 2.00d and see if they are prime blend stable at 450+ FSB

    Mine fails within the first 1min on one of the threads.

    That looks like WAY too much vCore for a 450x9 build. Besides at that high a vCore your vTerm is too low... My 512x9 build is set at 1.425vCore and 1.34vTerm, to give you an example. I am not sure, but I think that LLC is disabled in my 445x9 build; it is, however ENABLED for my 512x9 set....

    As a disclaimer, I only ran the 512x9 set long enough to get a decent SuperPi time and BY NO MEANS am implying that it is a stable or safe build. My 445x9 build, on the other hand is 24 Hour Large Ftt Prime Stable. That doesn't mean it will work for you as is, though... but it should be a good starting point.

    My Board was defaulting tWTR to 4 Which i think is the problem.
    I tried a set of Mushkin Redline DDR2 1000 2x2gigs and they had the same trouble of running stable at above 450 FSB 1:1.

    I have now set tWTR to 13 in bios which memset now reads as 20 but i don't mind the performance hit if it lets me get higher FSB.

    I am now running 488 FSB and prime blend has been running for 20 minutes now without an error. which is 19 minutes and 59.5 secounds better then i have ever done !!!!!!

    Next run will be 500 X 9
