Hey guys, just wanted to give an update. While poking around in my pc I bumped my heatsink. Which shut down the pc. Well I was wiggling it and sure enough, it would shut down. Come to see that the base plate of the heatsink was touching the capacitors on the mobo. I had it configured to blow the exhaust from it up towards the blow hole. So I took it off and re-positioned the heatsink so that it pushes the air towards the back exhaust fan. Well after beating the pc into the ground for the last month, I can say problem SOLVED!! Set my settings for the ram timings as per suggested and this thing now has wings!!! It flies!! Thank you to everyone who helped me. You guys are the best!!

So take note of this issues you guys that still may be having shut down issues. Thanks again!!

Thanks for the update, glad to hear that you're finally stable, um I mean your system is stable. Another member with a Q9550 was happy with his 3.60GHz system, but he got bitten by the o/c bug. He found 3.80GHz exhilarating and he hasn't stopped yet at over 4.10GHz.

Going up to about 3.90GHz is fairly easy, but it gets a lot harder as you try to go past 4.00GHz. Let us know if you want any o/c help in the future.

How about posting your current stable settings for the benefit of others? It would be a nice touch if you included a screen-shot with cpu-z, Memset, and some benchmark results.

OK here are some screenshots. My mem timings are 3-3-6-48-3 thats as best I could do stable. Well didn't push it once I got here. Not sure if these are good benchmarks from everest.

Those numbers are perfect. It's around what I'd expect from a Core 2 Quad on a 400 FSB and a P45. The only reason it's beaten by a Phenom is because they have on chip DRAM controllers, which means better bandwidth and lower latencies.

Below is a shot of my numbers, for comparison. RAM is slightly overclocked with a 411 FSb on the 2.66C multi:
Coolermaster CM 690 II advance Case
    Corsair HX750 (CWT, 91%(80+ Gold rated @230V) single 62A 12V rail
    P55A-UD4 v2.0 @ F14
    Core i5 760 @ 20 x 201, 4.02GHz
    TRUE Black with a single Noctua NF-P12 pumping out 55 CFM @ 19db .
    2 x 2GB Mushkin Ridgeback (996902), @ 7-10-8-27, 2010-DDR, 1.66v
    2 x Gigabyte GTX 460 1024MB in SLI (Pre OC'd to 715MHz core and 1800MHz VRAM) @ 850 Core / 4100 Mem.
Intel X25-M Boot Drive (OS and Programs) 200MB/s Read & 90MB/s Write
    Corsair X32 200MB/s Read & 100MB/s Write
WD Caviar Blue 640GB C (Steam, Games, Storage, Temp Files & Folders, etc)
    Samsung F3 500GB Backup/Images
Noctua 1300RPM 19dB case fan (rear extraction)
3 x 140 MM Coolermaster LED fans (one front intake, one top extraction, one side intake)
    Dell Ultra Sharp 2209WAf E-IPS @ 1680x1050
