Default Sound does not work properly on ga ep45c ud3r?

    Hello.

Is it normal for the sound not to work properly on these GA EP45C-UD3R boards?
I just put this system together and all is ok, but the sound. I'm not overclocking at all.

I have to continually go into Realtec Hd audio manager and play around with it to get any kind of sound working...
Configure the Mic, but that will not work most of the time.

I used the updated drivers on the Gigabyte site and they were bad, so I thought I try the older ones on the install cd that came with my motherboard. Same difference.

Now after playing with it I can get sound, but my mic will not work most of the time and when it does work, it's real low..
When I try to do a test recording with windows sound recorder I get a "not of enough memory to complete this operation, close one or more programs to increase available ram and try again. I have 4 gigs of ram and no other program is running but windows sound recorder.

Skype will not work because it's to low. When I try to do a Ustream recording, the sound will not work at all.
This is my second Gigabyte board that I have owned.. The first one I had was 5 years ago and that went bad as soon as I put a usb device in. Then I said I would not try Gigabyte again but I did...
Is there any solution to this problem? Thanks.

    Mitch

Yes, they can be a pain. On my 939 ASUS and MSI they were. And also on this GIgabyte LGA 775.

Have you tried the version 6.0.1.5804 from around March 2009?

    Edit:

And go to "Device advanced settings" in the Realtec Hd audio manager and see if by default you have "Separate all Input jacks as independent input devices". If its not selected by default try it.

I got the most recent one I saw on Gigabyte, which is 5.10.0.5793, 2009/03/23, then I got rid of that and used the one I found on the Realtec site.. Got rid of that and used the one's on the install cd, which are still on..
We are talking about the Realtek Function driver for Realtek Azalia audio chip (Including Microsoft UAA Driver?

Did you do clean uninstall re-install and all that jazz?

And is "Separate all Input jacks as independent input devices" selected by default?

I uninstalled it through add remove programs.

Can't remember seeing "Separate all Input jacks as independent input devices" or maybe I did.

The problem is, why would it be working ok one minute and then not the next...

It's ok now. I disabled it in the bios and put my $15 Cmedia 8738 card in and would you know it, it's working the way it should now.

I appreciate your help.. Hopefully I won't have any more problems.

Well, I do have one more question:

My memory timings are 6.6.6.18 as memset and cpuiz show as well as in the bios. Are these ok? Im not all that familiar with messing with memory timings.

My OCZ2G8004GK Package did not say what they were..

Ok, I finally got the correct memory timings for the ram (OCZ2G8004GK)

    They are 5.5.5.18 @2.0volts.

I put those in the bios and all seems OK.
