    Unfortunately no luck.
I tried various combinations of CPU term and MCH core, specifically MCH core 1.26 vs CPU term 1.26 ans 1.28, then move one step up on the MCH core and repeat.
Refs were set 0.76@1.2VTT (is that cpu term, yes?) and 0.74@1.2
All of those settings only got me to the main BIOS screen.

Have you tried booting with AHCI disabled? YOu say you had problems with it and had to raise ICH I/O, maybe it's the cause of the freeze.

I can try. But I do not want to go back to legacy IDE, in case it is the cause :)
    Let's see...

    WTF!
While playing around with AHCI I changed memory strap to 2.00B and booted with 500 on first attemp! What the... is this? How is that possible?

Btw CPU term 1.26, MCH core 1.26.

It maybe that some component or setting doesn't like the 2.00D strap. If it works OK on 2.0B then it's fine to use, there's no significant advantage to using the D strap.

Ok, so I guess it't time to test stability.
If it's ok I will probably try to tune some voltages down. What's causing the most heat and what does probably have the biggest impact on stability?

    Heat:

    Clock speed
    Vcore for CPU
    VDIMM for RAM
    MCH Core for Northbridge
    ICH Core for Southbridge

    Stability:

All the heat causing voltages have an effect on stability. Apart from those, the level of MCH and CPU ref and VTT settings are key. No need to tune down VTT as long as it's @ 1.4V or under. CPU and MCH refs are also OK left at any value that provides stability.

Damnit, just touched the heatsink on NB. Where are my steaks? I will save on electricity in the kitchen. That's SO hot!!! But well, what else to expect when Prime95 has been torturing the board for four hours with blend-like custom test. I only hope it will be much cooler in real life situations.

Anyway. So at 500FSB there probably is not much hope for getting MCH core voltage down, hm? I mean 1.260 seems decently low already to me.
If I find this setup stable, no point in tweaking any values down, right?

Closing on 24 hours Prime stable @500x7.5 :)
I beleive VCORE is way too high, so that will go down as well - unless I want to get to 4GHz. But then again, it already suffers, being cooled completely passively.
