    Unhappy Q9550 / EP45-UD3P / PC2-8500Corsair Dominator ReBoot Loop

    At first I got the Q9550, EP45-UD3R Rev 1.1, and a pack of 2x2GB PC2-8500C5(1066Mhz) Corsair Dominators. Put it all together, manually set the timings and voltage, and then tried to boot with a HDD that already has 32bitXP on it. BSOD when the xp loading screen comes up and reboot. I updatedthe BIOS to Rev F9, cleared CMOS, loaded optimized defaults, reset timings and voltage, same results. Inserted XP install disk it began to load setup and then BSOD. Tried one stick at a time, in each slot, and both sticks in all slot combination, same results.

    Got 4sticks of Corsair CM2x1024-6400G's(800Mhz) tried one stick, two,3,4... all slots, one slot, two slots, 1&3, 2&4.... same results.

    Memtested the 8500s, no errors.
    `````````````
    Figured it was the mobo. So I got the EP45-UD3P Rev 1.1, already came with BIOS rev F9. Put it all together, same results.. both sets of ram. BSOD upon loading windows from HDD, and now ERROR MESSAGE "ntkrnlmp.exe could not be loaded Error Code 7" upon trying to install XP from CD.
    ........................
    I've googled both boards with both sets of RAM, checked multiple forums, tried every set of voltages/timings i can find that pertain to my particular setup to no avail....
    Please Note >>that I'm not trying to overclock AT ALL! I have no desire to overclock anything, period. I simply want to plug everything in, set some settings and have it work as it should..
    I've been messing with this thing now for 3 weeks trying to acheive some success/waiting on UPS for spare parts(I live out in the sticks). This is annoying me... My last system build ~4-5yrs ago was never this much trouble, it plugged in and just worked. I've stuck with the same manufacturers, but am getting quite disgruntled...
    Any help would be much appreciated!
    I have the same problem. I still do not have an answer. However, I used my old computer to install XP on the new hard disk which I installed to my new computer. It booted up alright and is working fine. I know this is not the solution. At least I've got it going. I am still looking for the right answer.
    Hope this would help temporarily.
    Cheers.
    this might not be the best solution but it did fix the same problem until i simply moved the memory sticks over a slot
    slot 1-->slot 2
    slot 3-->slot 4
    rebooted loaded optimized defaults, and then set the timings and volts and loaded up with 1066mhz, 800mhz might work too and no BSOD or lockups since.
    crazy solution hope this helps a bit
