    Question Whats wrong with my EP45_EXTREME (No Post)

    Hi,

    I've tried everything I could but I can't get my beloved EP45-Extreme to POST.

    This mobo was working fine and all the components where tested on a UD3P.

    Problem:
    - After trying to power ON the mobo I just get a brief power to the mobo and then it's cut immediately (as you can see on the video). Then I try to press Power Switch again but nothing happens.

    If I remove the 8 Pin from the mobo it will power on but with no POST because it needs the 8 Pin to run.

    What I have tried so far:
    - Different components (CPU, Ram, Video, PSU);

    - Tested for grounding issues and indeed I found a lot of points from the backplate touching the mobo pins, bu I corrected them all.

    I can't think what else should I search for or whats wrong with the mobo as there is no physical damage or anything apparently wrong with it.

    Check out the testing procedures in this post.
    Even though you've "fixed" the shorting issues, you should do these tests with the mobo removed from your case, resting on a cardboard box or books beside your case. You might want to clear the CMOS during these tests.

    Have you tried testing with a video card in a different pci slot?
    Have you re-tested your components in another system?

    Hi profJim thanks for the reply.

    I removed the mobo from the techstation and tried to see if there where any bent pins touching each other. Everything looked clear.

    I did clear cmos but still no go, looks like the mobo is completly dead.

    Now I'm in the process of putting everything back on the UD3P and testing. I'll get back here to say if everything is working.
