Thread: Are GA-EP45T-UD3P and Kingston KVR1333D3N9/2G compatible?

Default Are GA-EP45T-UD3P and Kingston KVR1333D3N9/2G compatible?

Did someone manage to pair GA-EP45T-UD3P with Kingston KVR1333D3N9/2G DDR3 successfully. Note I've never seen any failures on Memtest86+ and Prime95 blends but I have random freezes during video encodes with no OC.

    Anyone?
I tried KVR1333D3N9/2G on two different boards without any issues but seems to me that on GA-EP45T-UD3P it will never work!

    Comers,

I have the KVR1333D3N9 (8Gb) ram working on the EP45T-UD3R.

Se my post http://forums.tweaktown.com/f69/oc-a...eginner-32585/ for settings

Memory is working fine and is not playing up (yet).

    Hi Rebel,
Unfortunately for me it's not working. Apart from having all on auto I've tried 1333MHz and 1066MHz and multi 3.20 3.33 4.00 with various timings starting from 8-8-8-20 to 9-9-9-24 to 9-10-10-27 to 10-12-12-30 and any tRD from 8 to 13 and the only thing that happened was decrease of performance. I've tried also veeeery relaxed advanced timings but that made things even worse. And no overclock! No heat issues as well - my temps are low by all standards.
The only way to verify stability is to try some video encodes for 12-24 hours and to look for frozen screen. As I said memtest and prime95 never gave any errors but freezes continued. Thinking of it maybe it's not the memory after all. Maybe some EP45T-UD3P boards have problem with mem slots or MCH controllers while others are ok. But how many?
Anyway I transferred ALL components to two different boards - Gigabyte's GA-X48T-DQ6 and ASUS' P6T Deluxe V2 and did exactly the same Windows XP install. Then using the same programs tried everything as if I'm working on EP45T-UD3P. The conclusion - never had any single issue with these boards for nearly 2 months of use.

Yes GA-EP45T-UD3P & Kingston KVR1333D3N9/2G is supported. It's on page 3 here---> http://www.gigabyte.us/FileList/Memo...ep45t-ud3p.pdf Have you tried moving the ram to different slots, or try it with half the total amount?

Yes, that's the problem. I suspect in fact there is incompatibility. And of course, I've moved them around many times without success. The freezes I experience are not during normal load but rather when doing encodes and large files transcoding. Normally I would have not known there is problem, I guess.

    Hi artdrivers,
I was talking about my previous ddr3 KVR1333D3N9. The one in my signature is a borrowed HyperX and I don't have problems with it - yet!
BTW KVR1333D3N9 is rated for 1.5V +-0.075 only and I'm trying to solve the problem so to get it back in my pc.

SORRY Comers I misread and got them mixed up.

I noticed that the KVR1333D3N9/2G voltage can be slightly increased. Did you try going into bios and setting the memory voltage to manual and increase it a little when you had it in that motherboard?

    DESCRIPTION:
    This document describes ValueRAM's 256M x 64-bit 2GB (2048MB) DDR3-1333 CL9 SDRAM (Synchronous DRAM)
memory module, based on sixteen 128M x 8-bit DDR3-1333 FBGA components. The SPD is programmed to JEDEC
standard latency 1333Mhz timing of 9-9-9 at 1.5V. This 240-pin DIMM uses gold contact fingers and requires +1.5V.
The electrical and mechanical specifications are as follows:
    FEATURES:
JEDEC standard 1.5V 0.075V Power Supply
    VDDQ = 1.5V 0.075V
    667MHz fCK for 1333Mb/sec/pin

    Programmable Additive Latency: 0, CL - 2, or CL - 1 clock
    Programmable CAS Write Latency(CWL) = 9(DDR3-1333)
    8-bit pre-fetch
Burst Length: 8 (Interleave without any limit, sequential with starting address “000” only), 4 with tCCD = 4
which does not allow seamless read or write [either on the fly using A12 or MRS]

    Yes, but 1.5V +0.075 gives max 1.575V so I did try 1.5V and 1.6 and even 1.76V.
    Anyway 1.5V was most stable. From all the profiles I've tried 1.75V @ 1066MHz @ 9-9-9-24 @ tRD=9
genereated the least amount of freezes.
