    Have you tried a different video cable?
    Are the video cable connectors fully seated?
    Are you using a video cable adapter for your cable and video card?
    What is the refresh rate setting in windows? Many LCD monitors will only run at 60 Hertz.
    What is the brand and model # of your video card and monitor?

    I have plugged the vga cable to the one in the mobo and also to the one on my Nvdia 9300GS gpc but I still do not get any 'footage' on my lcd. I am currently using a hp lcd monitor which works fine with my older system.

    Have you tried running with another monitor, LCD or CRT?
    Have you tried using the onboard graphics without installing your video card?
    Which operating system are you running?
    Do you have a speaker hooked up to your motherboards speaker pins?
    If yes, how many beeps do you hear when you power on your system?
    In the Advanced BIOS Features bios panel what is the setting for:
    Init Display First = ??
    Onboard VGA = ??
    On-Chip Frame Buffer Size = ??

    Follow the procedures in this post for removing your motherboard from the cpu case and performing a minimal boot.

    If you have any questions with these procedures, just ask.

    Found this site via the google. I am having the same problem. My comp was running smoothly, then it froze, i turned off power, now I can't get any monitor back. I doubt it's a cabling/short circuit issue cause it was working fine... but anything is possible. I've cleared the CMOS, taken out graphics card/ram/dvdrom. Any other suggestions? I have NO video at all. System powers up, no unusual beeping.

    Thanks.

    @rman1234
    Please post a detailed hardware list in your forum signature:
    --> User CP tab (upper left corner of web page)
    --> select Edit Signature
    --> enter your hardware components (brand, model, etc.)
    --> include your bios version
    --> preview
    --> Save when complete
    Be sure to include your bios version, motherboard version, power supply, cpu heatsink/fan setup and the model numbers of all components.

    Link to your ram's full specifications.
    This will help speed things up and eliminate errors.

    Can you try your monitor, cable and video card in another computer?
    Can you borrow any of these items to try with your computer?
    Are you getting a single beep when you first power up your system?
    Have you recently added any new hardware or made any physical changes to your system?

    With your machine turned off AND your psu is switched off, unplug each cable and re-seat each cable.
    Remove and re-seat all plug-in cards and your memory modules.
    Don't assume that any components are good. Fuses can suddenly fail or parts can suddenly fail.
    Sometimes you need to remove the cmos battery and clear the cmos for an extended period of time, possibly several hours or overnight.

    I actually don't hear any beeps at all. It just hums, the light on my DVDRW blinks, and that's it. No monitor display at all. I've tried two different monitors. I have tried taking out the graphics card and using the onboard video. I have tried clearing the CMOS with a screwdriver. I have removed the battery for hours and put it back.

    I initially suspected that it might be a problem with my overclock. I overclocked my E5200 to 3.0GHz. But it could have also been Win7 that was crashing. I never did a good Prime95 overnight run to check out that it was stable, oops.

    This exact problem happened a few days ago as well. Last time I unplugged my comp, opened it up, pushed on a few cards, put it back together, and it booted fine. I was using it last night and it froze and when i restarted the problem came back with a vengeance.

    Any other suggestions for what to look at?

    At this point, I'm going to rip out everything (including a huge pain-in-the-ass heatsink on my processor) and put it all back together again. I'll carefully look for burnt/broken/touching wires as well. NOT looking forward to this. I just built this comp 4 months ago and it was working pretty solid until recently.
    Mobo - Gigabyte GA-G31M-ES2L
    CPU - Intel Core 2 Duo E5200 overclocked to 3.06GHz
    RAM - 4GB
