Default New ep45-ud3p rev 1.6 from FA bios

I just picked up a ud3p board and its a rev 1.6 with FA bios.
I cant find this board on gigabyte web site. Here is a pick/link you can see the bios date is 5/4/09 with bios FA, ive tried the f9 bios for rev 1.1 but checksum error.board doesnt apear to be much different looking than 1.1 revision. The only thing i hate about this board is the frustration with all the setting to get get a boot. But has paid off 535 fsb..550 not stable .. I might need more than 1.4vtt but i dont want that.

I recall someone posted that a gigabyte rep had mentioned something about an improved ud3 series board arriving that was supposed to have a more robust mch that can handle higher fsb for longer durations. Maybe rev 1.6 is that board?

Unfortunately, looking at the CPU-Z screenie, the actual P45 chipset revision used is identical to the Rev 1.0 and Rev 1.1.

There may however be other changes to the MCH, such as a re-designed chip-to-board interface, or better voltage regulation. If I had to hazard a guess though, I'd say it's another minor revision, to maybe cut production costs with minor layout (copper tracks etc) changes and possibly different brands of caps/VRMs/Chokes etc.

Rancid, are there any visible differences between your board and the 1.0/1.1 pictured on Gigabytes site? Things that may have changed include:

Is the NB heatsink held with push pins or screws?
How are the MOSFET sinks secured? Again, pins or screws?
Is the colour scheme the same?
Are there any repositioning of components, such as caps moved, more caps in places, more/less VRMs and Chokes etc?

Might be asking too much, so please excuse me, but if you could take a photo with a good quality digi camera if you have one that'd be amazing. Have a play with macro mode on or off and flash on or off for the clearest pic. Doesn't matter if you can't but it's be useful to see indeed.

    No problem. Appreciate you trying.

Did you notice any visual differences between your board and the 1.0/1.0 that I mentioned? If nothing obvious stands out, It may be a performance tuning release, which would be both good and bad. Good because the reputation of the board would grow even more, and people will be getting even better over clocks. Bad because I don't have one.
