    O.K.,
I set the BIOS up like you said and what do you know the Memory and F.S.B. both equal 1600 MHz! So, this is a 2:1 ratio?

Anyway, it booted up perfectly!!! You are GREAT!!!

But, I did have a couple of questions: One is that under the Advanced Timing Control the Default Settings listed in my BIOS was 4-4-8-60-4-0. And you had listed 4-4-6-72-4-0? I set them to Auto like you said and changed the Command Rate (CMD) to 2 like you said. But did I need to set the other settings to 4-4-6-72-4 or just leave them at Auto?

Also, the DRAM Termination, Channel A, and Channel B are set to .750 in my BIOS by default. But you have .900 listed for these settings? I set them to Auto like you said, but should I have changed the values to .900?

And one last one, is the Legacy USB Storage Detect the same as USB Storage Function? It says (Legacy Support of USB USB Mass Storage) in the description in the BIOS?

Thanks and I will talk to you tomorrow morning! I need to get some sleep!

I will let Prime95 run all night!

    Well,
I was going to let Prime95 run all night, but it failed after 3 minutes!!!

I will talk to you tomorrow.

    Good Morning!
Well, I feel much better this morning. I had a terrible headache last night, that's why I gave up and went to bed!
I know it is going to take some fine tunning to get this to run stable. I am going to be here all day! So, if you could spare some time I would appreciate it?!
By the way, Psycho101 how would I go about re-embursing you for your time? I would like to give you something! If we get it running stable! Ha, Ha! Just Kidding! Really though, I will think of something or way to make it worth your while?!

Thanks again and hope to hear from you soon!

As I've already stated, no you can't run FSB and DRAM 1:1. As I said in my last post, you'd need to run a 1000MHz FSB, 4000 rated for that to be possible.

Sounds like you're still thinking of the rated and DDR speeds. That's not what 1:1 means, it has nothing to do with rated clock speeds, and is about actual clock speeds.

The different SMM settings take the current real FSB speed and times it by the number in the multiplier to arive at the DDR speed the RAM will run at with it set. For example on a 400MHz FSB, a SMM of 4.00d will actually set the RAM running at twice the FSB speed, IE 800MHz. In marketing bullsh1t, this is DDR-1600.

The only setting you could possibly set for a 1:1 ratio would be to use a 2.00B/D multi. At this SMM, you're drastically underclocking your RAM, as it will be running at 400MHz (DDR-800).

RAM at DDR-1600 and a rated FSB of 1600 is not a 1:1 ratio. To get those speeds, you need the FSB at 400 and the RAM clock (real clock) at 800. This is a 1:2 ratio. FSB:RAM ratios have nothng to do with rated clock speeds.

No need to give anything. Just post results here, and it improves the forum as a whole.

Yes, the two settings for USB storge are the same.

Your |D|RAM and A&B terminations are correct at 0.750. They default to 1/2 of DRAM voltage. When you add more VDIMM, they scale upwards to stay at 1/2 of DRAM (when in auro). The 0.900 settings are for DDR2, as its default voltage is 1.8V compared to DDR3's 1.5V.

To eliminate any variables, could you try loading optimized defaults and saving and exiting before re-trying those settings?

If prime still fails pretty quick, first thing to tweak would be northbridge voltags. Most of the other voltage settings should be good for 3.6GHz, so I'm suspecting the RAM/MCH needs tuning.

    O.K.,
I understand! I was thinking about it wrong, but I do understand now! All this time I was really talking about a 1:2 ratio I guess?!
    Because, I was going by 400 x 4 = 1600 F.S.B. and 800 x 2 = 1600 Memory Speed.
Anyway, can we try and get the computer to run stable this morning? I would appreciate it. If you have time?

    Thanks!

    O.K.,
I will load the optimized defaults and try setting it up again and then see what happens with Prime95!

Thanks and talk to you in a bit!

    Well,
I loaded the optimized defaults and reset all the settings and Prime95 stopped after 3 minutes!
A couple quick questions. One, there are 3 settings set to Auto that were not listed. MCH/DRAM Reference .750v , ICH I/O 1.500v , and ICH Core 1.100v . These are set to auto with those settings, is that O.K.?
Also, the last item under Advance Settings is: Init Display First. I have this set to PEG? The default is PCI? I figured that since I have a PCI Express graphics card, this is what they meant? Is this correct?

    Thanks!

    Oh Wait!
I just read your instructions again, and what I did was selected Optimized Defaults and Saved them as instructed. But I did not exit out of anything, I just saved it and then went to changing the settings back to what you had requested?
Should I have re-started/booted up into Windows, the computer after I loaded the Optimized Defaults?

    Oops!

MCH Dram Ref you can leave in Auto. ICH I/O and ICH Core, you can adjust a little if you like to see if they help any.

PEG is correct for the first PCIE Slot.

So prime failed after 3 minutes, sounds like you need to go back and adjust your voltages all again
