Default Gigabyte ep45-ud3r can't change CPU multiplier!

First...I appologize if this topic has been covered before. I looked thru the forum and couldn't find any posts dealing with my problem. I just built my first computer, so I'm not all that confident with my tweaking ability. With that said...I have a gigabyte ep45-ud3r with an intel e8500 3.16ghz processor. The clock ratio is stuck at 8x and the FSB is at 333, making my CPU run at 2.84ghz. The bios on this board won't let me access the CPU multiplier. I've read that the easytune software that comes with the board is horrible, so I'd really like to avoid using it. Any suggestions please?

Do you have a jumper on the clear cmos if so remove it. What bios do you have? (F3-F9)
scroll down for bios updates. Download as needed. (Asia)China is the best site for the English download
What is your memory part number? Can you please let us know the computer specifications so we can better assist you? As much as possible.

I believe the clock multiplier is locked on the E8500.
A bios upgrade should get your multiplier up to 9.5.
According to Gigabyte your Bios should be F3 for the E8500.
