Default GA-EP45-UD3P Won't even boot now.

Okay so I've ordered some parts to build my computer. This is also my first build, and after I finished and I booted it up, everything works great. The bios can recognize my hard drive, dvd drive, ram, cpu. After this I tried to install Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit, and it failed half way through the setup, It encountered some error that was probably missing from the disc. After rebooting, I had the dreaded BOOTMGR is missing error. The Vista CD repair didn't really fix this, so I figured I would try to format and install a copy of Windows 7 RC instead. I got to the point where it would say "Setup is in progress, please wait" but my system hangs at this screen. I restarted again, and now my system is not recognizing a hard drive anymore. It recognizes my DVD drive in the 2nd SATA connection, but the first one(my hard drive) is now blank at the post screen. I thought I would at least try to change the SATA cable on my hard drive, so I unplugged my power supply and changed it. I plugged the cord back into my power supply. Press the power button, and nothing happens. My computer won't even turn on now. Did my power supply just fail on me? Will I have to bring my computer to the repair shop? Could my hard drive be a big problem too? Im guessing if the bios cannot read the hard drive, the windows setup could not also, and therefore it would hang at the setup.

This is what's in my system...

I have reset the bios to optimized defaults and it still doesn't read my hard drive, maybe its just doa. but as of now, the computer doesn't turn on at all. maybe i short circuited the power supply by replugging the cord so many times(about 4-5 times when changing sata cable)

Well do this take out your motherboard from the case and place on a piece of cardboard or something else as long as it's not conductive. Hook up the power supply ram and hard drive and try to boot. Tell us if you hear one beep or more.

Okay so my system boots today, but the problem could lie within my hard drive. The bios does not recognize the whats plugged into the sata 0 master. Before it recognized it as a 500gb hard drive, but now it's just a large blank next to it. All the other sata slots say NONE on them, while this one is blank. Also when I turn on the computer, I can hear the hard drive spinning up like a cd rom drive, followed by 4-5 clicking noises from inside the hardware, and then it stops spinning, then it repeats this process a few times.

Clicking and stalling/constant spin-up attempts are definatly a drive fault. Definately RMA the drive.
