So you all good then? Sorry, I thought a few images would be best for anyone who may be confused later on down the road.

    LUN's? What do you mean?

I never managed to AHCI I RAID and IDE on this one. Because I spent 2 days trying to get the drivers to work on this motherboard and just gave up with the AHCI I don't need it any way. But I do know that others do so I am trying to learn a little of it by googling, and going to forums like here. Thanks for your info it helps.

Silly me. Logical Units, shouldn't have called them LUNs. The two logical volumes on one physical array of three drives.

What is with the ahci Why do you need it if you are not hot swapping?

Need? Who needs? In that Ned Slider's article was three main advantages.
Counting out hotswap leaves two. Staggered spinup counts with multiple
drives, but then you probably use RAID, so that is not a "plain AHCI" plus.

Which leaves the NCQ. Re-ordering of multiple accesses in order to minimize
head movements. And multiple reads imply multiple processes, or at least
threads. Makes a notable difference on servers, but they don't usually do
    "plain AHCI" either.

Thus, most of us use either IDE or RAID. RAID does use AHCI, but that is
irrelevant. Hotswappers are a logical crowd for the plain AHCI.

"mv2devnull" Thank 'You' for that answer. We can solve many problems if we have enough Nanoseconds. How many Nvidia boards has Gigabyte sold this quarter? Nvidia has a great chipset! We will get this RAID/IDE going without AHCI and Windows "Vista", won't we? The way to go without Intel. :>)
