It should down clock to match your factory stock card.

Have you confirmed there's a crossfire bridge in the box? My ASUS didn't include one. I asked why and they said it was a waste because 90% of people won't use one. When I said that the 10% that do need it will have bought two cards and not have a single bridge to be able to use what they paid for, the guy went quiet.....

You should be able to get a bridge online. Failing that, eBay has loads for a few /$. The standard length one wil be OK for your board. Best to go for a genuine ATI bridge though rather than the 3rd party ones.

Monitor calibration can be tricky. If just gaming and watching movies, then you can basically set it to what ever looks good. If photo editing and printing though, you want your changes to reflect the content of the end product.

Callibration can vary depending on room conditions too. Being colour blind I find it a little difficult distinguishing subtle shades of the same general coulour, so as I don't photo edit I just play around until I get an image I like most.

    1) I ordered 2 X Sapphire ATI Crossover Bridge Connector thingys with my Card as it does not come with one and I dont have one and I just wanted to use both because I can.

    2) My Ultrasharp 1907FP is very nice I have no viewing angle problems and Shadingi issues for a TN but I know IPS is better and will most likely go that way

    3) Nearest store is like 400Km away so personally viewing a monitor is not going to happen. Thats why I've come to you guys for expert opinions. Psycho you havent lead me astray yet and I will probably take you up on your recommendation on the dell but I would like to see it on sale.

Definitely see if you can grab yourself a bargain. I don't know if they do mail in rebates in Australia? They don't in the UK unfortunately.

For the Crossfire bridges, call the connector nearest the back plate "A" and the one to the right as "B". In a two card setup, A to A or B to B is all that's needed. With CrossfireX using three cards, you'd use A to A for cards 1 and 2 and B to B for cards 2 and 3, meaning that all cards are connected via one another. If you have a quad PCIe you'd then do A to B for the fourth card. Having two bridges, while providing bo benefit, doesn't do any harm, and looks better if you have a case window.

I suspect your Dell is a premium panel, and as such will be a TN of a very high quality. Maybe I've just had the misfortune to have used relatively poor TN's, but my Viewsonic was a premium monitor when it came out and unfortunately suffers from minor ghosting and wishy washy colours too.

The 2209WA E-IPS compared to my current monitor is like night and day. The colours are amazing, and the brightness and contrast are superb. There is a slight hint of backlight bleed in the corners in a completely pitch black room, but this can be eliminated with a few adjustments. The build quality is also superb, and I was relieved to see it has a matt finish rather than the seemingly popular reflective finish that's used on a lot of monitors to artificially improve contrast. I'm not saying it's as good as some of the 500/$1000 24" monitors, but the combination of having not seen those working and the difference between the Dell and my AOC POS sold it for me.

Certainly looks the part. I'd have to see it going before I could judge, but if image quality is good to you, that's what counts.

How far do you sit away from the monitor? I wear glasses (short sighted - the one where far away stuff is blurry) and like to take off my main glasses and pop on an old pair with the same script difference between each eye, just weaker. I think if I had a 26" I'd have to be at least 3 feet away to be comfortable, maybe 4, making my PC glasses not strong enough. A strange consideration for a monitor purchase, I know.

@Nimrod, forgot to mention when I saw your rig photos; if your wiring is nicely secured (it looks good), removing the metal cover on the inside of the extractor 120mm would do wonders for the noise level and may let you run the fan faster. It really helped with mine. I'm just extra careful if pokin around with the PC on, which is rare. The cover definitely added volume to the fan sound as well as creating a less pleasant pitch/tone.

I like the look of the samsung (design) however really thats about were the WOW factor ends with them compared to the Dell IPS selection.

As you say Psycho im purely going for the Look of having 2 X Crossfire Interconnectors.

Reading the reviews of the Dell 2209 e-IPS people are super happy with them which is about good enough for me. Now I just need a sale and its all mine. Dell do put on sale stuff from time to time. Just not today. Ill check regularly and see if I cant snavel one up cheap. the 24in Dell does take up most of the space on my crap desk at the back and the poor little speakers just have nowere to go. I think probably Id be happy with 22 inches of Pure IPS Pleasure.

P.S I have no Ghosting issues with my 1907FP dell screen. Its really pretty good. But After using my 32inch LCD TV for gaming its hard to go back to a small non wide screen for gaming.

Hu Interesting about the fan cover. I never though of it. I will do that the next time im inside the case. I wish I had have taken the photo before I added a bunch of messy stuff down the bottom. By that time of the night i Couldnt really care to much. I will either once I'm done overclocking (using additional HDD for Windows so no more raid crashes) I will remove the extra power lead. and the reat ESATA cable is just yuk. I will do more when I get this other HD4850 as I will use the Other RAIL (blue) PCI-e Cable for it so there will be additional tidy work to be done. The Other Computer in the Poseidon case is looking good to but I kinda have made it obsolite by getting all the good stuff in this machine and using it for gaming. I dont know what to do.

@Psycho, I also wear glasses, short sighted -1.25 & -1.75 I can sorta get away without using glasses when computing because its just in my realm of focus however I do alway were them. I wear contacts during the day which can become a litle annoying when using a PC for a long stint.
The wiring in my case is pretty secure most of the ugly work is on the back side of the motherboard so yeah. I just need to do something better with the Esata. THe Gigabyte Esata cable that came with the Mobo is very practical but very bulk. It has 2 SATA cables and a molex plug in the backplate with cable running inside as well. I chucked it in the other case for now. I have an externally powered Esata case which works well..
When I use the 32in LCD TV for gaming its good but the Pixels are pretty big and I can only have 1280X1024 on it so yeah. I dont know maybe im just fussy. I still have to convince the wife. lol.

Last night I swapped out my old but trusty dell optical moust and craptacular keyboard for my logitech cordless laser setup. Cant really tell any more acurate gaming from it but its much more comfy. I just wish I could find (did it come with one??) the wrist pad thing for the keyboard. I still have the original box (Yeah I have a problem, I have a cuboard full of pristeen computer component boxes) and its not in it nore does the box depic it coming with one. However there is the little tab holes on the bottom if the keyboard which indecates to me that its suppost to have one. (yes I know I cant spell)

Your eyes are about the same as mine then. I'm -1.0 Left, -1.25 Right with a -0.25 cyl value in each at about the same axis (100-105). I can tell my vision is deteriorating again and it's only been 10 months since I had these specs. When intense gaming I sometimes move to my strongest pair. I have great close up vision bit it degrades considerably for every 2-3cm after ~40cm. Contacts are horrible for me. My left eye likes them fine, but my right eye gets dry after ~4 hours and blurry after just 1 hour. I still get blurriness the next day in that eye if I wear them too long. I'd go Ortho-K if I could. That's where you wear hard lenses over night, and it squashes your cornea into shape. After a couple of weeks you have prefect vision, and use the lenses to maintain it. No way Am I having laser surgery. They slice a flap in your cornea and fold it back for the laser to get in properly.

My 26" Toshiba REGZA is the same. It has a 1366x768 native res. I can only get a max of 1024x768 through the VGA and HDMI underscans to 720P with alot of blur. Drivers are also unstable and I get alot of grey screens when trying to scale the image or set a custom 1366x768. Still, 22" will be fine for me.

Fan cover is definitely worth doing. I was shocked at how it added to the noise. And the reason I use Google Chrome is for its auto spell check.
