It may be that the form is created with a unique reference when you click the link. That way, each incident has a report number or something. You may need to google 9.7 Catalyst feedback to get a link where you can submit. If not, drop CatalystMaker a line at Terry Makedon (CatalystMaker) on Twitter . He's head of driver development, but doesn't suck ATI's proverbial appendage. If something is wrong in the drivers or he plans to make an addition, or ArmA coders need to do it, he'd speak his mind.

Looking at that picture of the MSI card, it does seem to have many more electrolytic caps than even a reference board, so cross flashing is probably not a good idea. I suggested this to maybe fix the PowerPlay bug. Likely it won't effect ArmA, as even running at different speeds, the faster card would wait for the slower. this waiting might cause some performance drop though, I'm not certain.

On a side note, I have noticed in both the oficial forum and a "war games" site I found, that sometimes, weirdly, higher settings can give better performance.

Yeah ok cool. Ill see about the twitter thing. I was thinking about this difference in clock speed and wondering if it would have affected anything. Im tempted to just get another one as it funs nice and cool however it is rather a bit noisier and I think it may be a deciding factor. Yeah its definatly different to the Reference design. I wont be flashing anything. I have messed with settings and currently in amra 2 everything is up max and there is less then 5 frames differences between super low and max so yeah. In the menu and cut screens and when I bring the menu up ingame i get 60FPS solid. So i think its just the game

Oh no! What can I say? If you were a little closer to me, ie lived in England I'd say "I love you! Invite me round I want to see that cool technology". But as you live so far away, it'll have to be "I'm so jealous! I hate you, I hate you I hate you!!!!!!"

You virtually have my ideal setup. The only thing I'd do now, is because you haven't had Yakshemash! Great success with OCing your quad, swap your E8xxx back in and go for 4GHz with nice low voltages. Even in the few games that love quads (GTA 4 loves em) you'll get better performance with 2 cores @ 4GHz. This should be even more true now, as you have twice the "GPU mouths" to feed. I can only assume that your board, although pretty sweet for dual cores, for some reason doesn't like quads.

How much did you pay for the monitor in the end mate?

Im sorry Psycho, I did not mean to upset you. You just have good and Similar Idea's and Ideals to myself. I will put up some more pics when I get my new monitor So you can be more jelous or just have something to think about when you close your eyes. Hopefully tommorrow. I hope, im sure this monitor will live up to all the hype. Well Monitor is RRP @ Dell for $439 including delivery. Its currently $50 off plus I used a coupon that I get because I have Telstra BigPond ADSL 2+ and it gives an additional 10% so it worked out $350 Delivered. I should have bought 3 and went Tripple head in ArmA. However my wife would seriously kill me and It was hard enough to convince her to let me get this one new monitor. And she still doesnt know that I bought the Quad Core or the Other HD4850 so shhhh.

EDIT: If you ever come to Australia Your quite welcome to come visit my command centre and use my Monitor. I havent given up on overclocking the Q9550. Its sitting sweet @ 3ghz but I will try for more soon. I think maybe its just got a problem with 400Mhz FSH Ill try 399 or 401 or something. Im a long way from finished. Just got tiered of swapping HDD over and what not.

Well Finally my new Monitor has arrived. Hooked it up and it looks great right out of the box. Had one little issue with windows 7 Extended Display telling me I had some other screen hooked up to S-Video and half way up the screen on the right hand screen the mouse would disapear off into nowhere land. If I told it to only use one display it would rotate the display 90 Degrees. But I managed to fix it up by disabling the "Other Display" in CCC. Now its really sweet. Funny story. ArmA 2 Seems to run better (higher FSB) @ 1680X1050 which is crazy but oh well. The Image looks great and so so sharp. I thought my Toshiba laptop had a good picture but this blows it away. Im glad i didnt get a 24in that would have been massive. Ill take a picture later on of my new display.

I guess you're busy enjoying your new kit, but please post a picture of the monitor if you have time. I know it's not going to be an accurate representation of what I can expect as I'll be looking at it on this crappy AOC pile of poo. I thought I'd print it off (have a great photo printer) to give a true representation of the likely quality.

I managed to sell a few unwanted items today at a local trade fair thing. A couple of CD players, DVD recorder etc. Basically enough for me to be able to buy another HD 4850. I've just won the auction, 52.50 delivered. It just so happens that it's the same identical card as your original, a Dell OEM model. Lucky I have the Glaciator cooler that originally came with my ASUS version (they're identical chip wise, so are BIOS compatible, confirmed on several forums by crossflashers).

All I need to do is saw off the VRM heatsink from the original cooler (the copper plated bit near the end of the card) and re-use that bit in combo with the Glaciator, until I can afford another T-Rad2, and the two 120*120*15 (not 25) slim fans needed for everything to fit.

I've sent you a small request regarding VGA BIOS through PM.

Yeah I have been enjoying the new setup. The Screen really has completed the system for now. Sorry about not getting the pics up I've been very slack. I will post some for you tonight. Is there any special technique you want me to use or picture on the screen? I got your PM I will work on that tonight also. Yeah I know what its like to not have hundreds of dollars spare cash to just spend on stuff. Ive really had nothing flash for many years and now that im a bit older and a little better off I though its about time that I splashed out some cash on the things that I love. (my wife was compensated $ for $) lol Its too bad that I couldnt use the $6000 Wedding Ring as a leverage point then I would have a fully sick I7 system. lol.
