So basically your saying that a +0.5v on the MCH is not much and well withing acceptable range. Yeah the X48-DS5 board doesnt show voltages lile normal actual volt measurments. Except the cpu volts which shows 1.2500v everything else is in + 0.25 steps. Whats the MCH stock did you say?

Is MCH +0.05 an exceptable amount.
your saying that a +0.5v on the MCH
.05 is not much, but .5 sounds a lot. 1.25v standard, according to Clunk. If you are talking .5 then that's 1.75v bios minus the .2 overvolt give measured 1.55v

I have no idea if 1.55v MCH is safe or not. I'm on less.

Well, theres not much news on progress on the Q9550 + X48 its sitting happy on 3.4Ghz 400X8.5 with the ram @ 800Mhz.

Im seriously considering a new built.
So far this is were im at.
    Core I7 920
    Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5
    NVIDIA GTX275 (maybe HD4890 but probably 275)
    I need suggestions on RAM
    Im looking at the Corsair TR3X6G1600C7D 6GB ( Corsair TR3X6G1600C7D 6GB (3x 2GB) DDR3 - $299.00 : PC Case Gear, Delivering quality computer parts Australia wide)
I would like some suggestions. I should start a new thread but you guys that are maybe subscribed to this thread will be all the help I need to make the decision. Im going to use the ODIN GT PSU and HDD's from the Q9550 Rig as well as case and dvd drive. Will also be buying a genuine copy of windows 7 Ultimate 64Bit with these parts. And I will be getting the NH-U12P SE 1366 with two fans for this build.

You'd be better off using your 4850's atm. Not only will they be more powerful than a single 275 (CF 4850 > 4890 too) but now is a really bad time to buy a DX10 card. For the same price you can buy a 5770 which will out perform it and is DX11. Other than that, wait and see what NVidia release in the form of DX11. Even if you don't want to buy a DX11 card, at least you won't then be paying top $ for a 275.

I guess it depends what games but everything I've played except Crysis meant that my CF 4850's handed the 275 its arse on a plate. Definitely not worth it for ~7-10 FPS in certain games when already getting over 30FPS.

Modern Warfare 2: GTX 275 (in my system) Max 102 FPS, Min 53 FPS, Vsync and triple buffering not good.
CF 4850's : Max 156 FPS, Min 72 FPS , Vsync and triple buffers at a solid 60 FPS

For RAM, grab some GSkill Ripjaw or the Mushkin Lsdmeasap reviewed. Ripjaw is nice and cheap, 7-7-7-21 at 1600. Dunno if it's just in 4GB kits or they do triple channel. If they only do 4Gb kits I'd be buying three of em. May well get two kits myself for my i7 build, 8Gb of RAM and a modest OC to ~3.8GHz plus enough RAM to use a nice 2GB RAM drive for installing a few programs, Internet Cache etc etc.

Well there you go. I think my crossfire setup is broken. I installed the Latest 9.11 drivers the other day and when I go to the overdrive section it shows the speed of GPU and RAM @ 0 Mhz. Even with ArmA 2 patched to 1.4 and 9.11 its still never better then 30fps average of like 20. It sucks. There was a definate boost in crysis from like 30 to 50 fps but I dont play crysis much. The other thing in the CCC it does show the actual speed of the cards as MSI = 640Mhz and RAM = whatever is ment to be, the Dell card doesnt seem to come out of resting even when playing graphically intense games it stays @ 160Mhz GPU WTF?

+0.5 MCH is way to much! Hope that was decided above, just thought I would put that out there in case it was not.

Going to go X58 eh? Check my signature if you would like some memory suggestions
