    +1 for Sapphire from me

What does your BIOS say for multi, and Easytune? Did you load optimized and save/apply/reboot after you installed the CPU?

TjMax is 95-100C, depending on who you believe and what PDF you look at, not much of a difference there anyway though

Yes I did Load optimized saved applyed rebooted.

BIOS Says 333X8.5 so its all sweet. Oh Update. Maybe realtemp had a brain fart. Im encoding a dvd and just opened it up and its saying 8.5 now. Thats weird. So I left Prime 95 for an hour and temps didnt go above 52 with TJ max @ 100. I think thats pretty good temps????? Thats using the ASUS Artic Aquare. So the Noctua should be good. I am sooooo going to have to up the FSB in a minute. Its just to tempting. Oh whats really cool is in windows 7 experience index my CPU is now 7.3 Thats pretty good out of 7.9. What are I7's? Everything is 7.3 in WEI now except stupid HDD which is 5.9

Edit: Yeah Im just going to hold off for a little bit maybe. Dammit LSD its so hard. I have the money I just dont want to get shot by my wife. lol I do like the Vapor X. dammit

Ahh, I was about to suggest maybe the latest beta of realtemp.

I am not sure what i7's are in windows 7, never checked. I'll look next time I have my win7 disk in and let you know.

Did you try disable cache on your drive, I know sounds stupid, but it does bring the scores up. Pointless I would say, disable something that is a improvement itself just to raise a score. At least that is how it was during the beta's anyway.

Hey, I keep a year or so behind in GXF Cards, but I don't game so no big deal to me. I do like the 4870's though, getting to be about that time maybe.

    *EDIT*

    More volts

J/K, but likely. Not sure at all what machine you are playing with or what is inside. Just sounded like not enough

I would have expected you to get 3.4-3.6 on the stock VID. Restarts always make me think it's beyond Vcore. Could I be biased by my own experiences though? Maybe. I've always either failed to boot or gotten into windows and had tests error with too low a Vcore. Never ever had a random restart or BSOD (touch wood).

On the GFX card front. I do like the Saphire card, but IMO $70 is too much of a premium to pay. It's like in the UK where you can get a basic 4890 for 165 but the VaporX costs 250. That's virtually the price of a 4870X2, and for what? A half decent cooler that's beaten by a 20 upgrade and a 1000 MHz core that can be obtained on most reference designs with a BIOS flash and better cooling. If in the US it's more attractive as the difference is only ~$40. Anywhere else and it seems they're pricing themselves out of the market.

Got lucky witrh my card choice, as I can get a seconf ASUS for around 75, half the price I paid almost for the first. Gaming at 1680x1050, 2 x 512MB is more than enough frame buffer.

Yeah I though Id be able to get somewhere with stock volts. I will try again with the new RAM when i get it. On thing though Psycho is that it didnt restart or anything It was just freezing. Everything was on the screen just no more temp movements and the mouse would not move. Ctrl + Alt + Del did no work either. Maybe theres another setting I can try. But I will try again after work 2 lets say 1.3v?

1.30V sounds like a good place to re-start. Hopefully it might like the new RAM better.

    Those temps sound perfect.

My Q8200 idled rather high too, and load temps were also higher clock for clock compared to the E7400. The Arctic Square sounds like its doing a good job. You should see a drop in temps too over the next few weeks or so, if you used AS5.
