    Default todo list

    hi everyone, new to this forum :)
    im getting a ud5 after few days and im planning of overclocking it
    here is the spec for the computer

    ex58-ud5
    i7 940 cpu
    OCZ 6GB DDR3 1600MHz (3x2GB) Reaper
    Gigabyte HD4870X2 PCI-E2.0 2GB GDDR5

    so i have been playing with the bclock and i cant get it higher than 170*22 with the vcore in 1.375 (is it okay to go higher ?)
    and still there im getting one or two errors in prime95, also the cpu is getting a bit hot, i've been using realtemp 3.3 to measure the heat, and its going all the way up to 84c

    i want to go over 4 ghz! so how do you guys do it

    I would venture to say when you get your system set up and running then post your bios settings. Then add the specs of your system in your sig. The say what your looking to do with your set up and your bios settings.

    I bet you'll get an answer to your questions then. Other wise it just all speculation.

    To help us help you please put you systems specs in you sig. Also fill out this generic template and some one with that board will probably offer you suggestions for it.

    Someone may want to check me on these max voltages from Intel.

    VCore - 1.55
    VPLL - 1.89
    VQPI - 1.35

    A couple of things you might try first is to disable all power saving options such as CE1, ESIT and so forth. Then raise up BCLK Freq to say 180 then test with OCCT or LinX or P95 and see what you results are. Stable, temps so on. You also might set up your memory to whats listed on the side of the stick such as 7-7-7-7-16 Voltage of 1.65. Go slow and test often. Reminds me you will also need to run memtest on your memory. Be careful there's a bug going around, lucky for me I was bitten.

    That would be a good start. BTW I don't have a i7 and really don't know how and what all makes them tick.

    im stuck at 3.74 ghz with the vcore at 1.375 !, i tried to raise vpll to 1.6 but no luck at all
    i turned off eist...
