    Default EP45-UD3P G.Skill F2-8500CL5D-4GBPK infinite loop issue

Issue: system does not post with bios defaults.

    tests done:
manually adjusted latency timing --> did not help.
changed memory multiplier to 2.40B --> managed to boot @ 800Mhz

Thanks to profJim for the below response:
    1) Make sure your system and ram are completely stable running your ram at 800MHz speeds.
    2) Run Memtest86+ overnight to verify that there are no "gross" memory errors due to faulty ram or an improper bios configuration.
    3) Run Prime95 Large FFTs for at least 6 - 8 hours, overnight is better.
    4) Post your bios settings using the generic bios template. Include a screen-shot that includes:
    cpu-z main screen (cpu tab).
Memset using the SPD and ">>" tabs
    EasyTune6 --> Tuner --> Advance --> Voltage (see this post for a sample screen-shot)

A quicker option would be to borrow some quality 1066 ram from a friend and see if your system will boot at the rated speed.

Another thing you can try is to try booting and running with only 1 memory module at 1066 speeds, and then running abbreviated stress/stabiltiy testing with Prime95 Large FFTs. You should run the single module in slot #1, closest to the cpu. If it won't run error free in slot #1, repeat the single module test in slots 2, 3, and 4 if necessary. You should also repeat this test with the 2nd memory module.

G.Skill memory is very popular in the forum and there have been few issues with faulty memory. Motherboard problems happen on rare occasions.

Most problems are due to owner error where they make certain common sense assumptions or they don't follow recommendations. As an example, RoscoP's GA-EP45-UD3L Issues mostly solved by following the initial recommendations, but he still has some 1066 issues that might be due to lower end equipment and possible mobo/ram incompatibility.

I will keep you posted as I ran the above test.

You need to adjust your memory Voltage to 2.1Volts dude.

Do it in the BIOS. Forget Easy Tuner. Please

Oh, well. I basically just set everything up manually. 5-5-5-15 @ 2.1v 1066Mhz and mine works good. There are some wierd stuff though. Sometimes when I go into my MIT section in the BIOS it detects the SPD as 1066 with different timmings and other times it Show 800Mhz with tighter timmings. I dont know but I just think its totally dodgy that company's can sell high binned 800Mhz ram as 1066mhz basically just up the volts. Funny though that my G.Skill @ 2.1v runs cooler then my XMS2 800mhz @ 1.8v. Anyway you will need to run Memtest 86+ v.2.11 for an over night stint to see if its the ram thats at fault. Do that and come back

Common issue with more than 1x2GB memory modules is the MCH voltage.
If you do not manage to solve this, a post with your settings and screen capture as explained in the link you posted will give a better idea of what the problem might be.

NimrodAUS, yeh did that too man. all the timings are also manually set just cant get it to run in dual channel @ 1066 (single channel no problem) so i'm thinking its gotta be the mobo. gonna exchange it today and try again.

Chike, you are right and I did try to increase MCH voltage also with the same results. dont know whats are the bounds for it so didnt mess around too much with it.

got a quick question though. is that possible that my second slot (slot 3) is messed up? system is having trouble posting with single stick in slot 4 but only @ 1066, no problem @ 800. however slot 1 has no issues posting @ 1066 single channel. this just boggles my mind...

I'm alittle confused about what you are trying to do, and is it slot 3 or 4.

trying to get the system post @ normal speeds: 2 x 2GB dual channel @ 1066; 333 FSB. nothing fancy. i'll post my bios settings some time tonight just wonna exchange my mobo cause slot 3 is bugging me.

dual channel --> fill slots 1 & 3; slot 1 functions as expected. slot 3 doesnt post @ 1066 under any circumstances. but everything is good @ 800.

So slot 1, and for work at 1066 but slot 3 will only post at 800 (have you tried both modules?)
Try slot 2, and if it's ok than try 2 and 4 dual-channel.

running both modules @ 1066 is the goal :) so yesw I've tried it with no luck. I ill got so bugged down with trying to adjust timing settings that i didnt test slots 2 & 4 @1066 dual channel (they worked in single channel mode @ 800) trying to run them both @ 1066 should of been one of the first things to do...
