The only OCZ memory on Gigabytes QVL for GA-MA790XT-UD4P is OCZ3N1800SR4GK
    I wonder why that is?

    Hey All,

Having that Windows 7 crashes with 4GB of memory (DDR3) but fine with 2GB (DDR3) problem.

I still can't figure this out.. Can someone please let me know the ideal setting for my BIOS on this config. memory and cpu settings.

Set your ram voltage, and increase NB Vid a little bit at a time until it doesn't crash anymore

To start I would suggest you list memory, cpu, and power supply part numbers. Without these it is impossible to make a specific suggestion. Also you may want to go into BIOS and to PC Health Status wait a few minutes for the temps to level off and record temps and list all the settings. Below is a template you can print it and use it to record this info then come back here and POST yours. This would be a good start.
    Code:
    PC Health Status
    Reset Case Open Status [Disabled]
    Case Opened No

    DDR3 1.5V 1.536V

    Thanks Lsdmeasap,

increase NB Vid by one unit and left the memory at 1.65.

It started up at least :)

But did this weird thing - Booted into as admin and didn't ask me what user to boot into. And the mouse when funky on me where everything open while i rolled over the icon with the pointer *did not click any mouse button* but it would open anything i rolled over it with.. Had to use my keyboard to switch users and seems fine now.. Afraid to restart it now :) I live off my computer.

Had to drive a ways to see with world cup game this morning :)

Here's the think now, when i get into my bios it doesn't start in the normal page but in the Advanced Clock Calibration page.

Where it say EC Fireware Selection [Normal]

And a flashing box that looks something like this.

    -----------------------------------------

EC FIRMWARE SELECTION
_________________________________________

Normal [ ]
Hybrid [ ]

_________________________________________

I can match changes in the bios, and they stick, but everytime i get into it, it starts there.

Let me know what to do please

    Hi seepi
You may want to put settings back to auto for now. You should list your memory here for us. It could need some BIOS settings tweaked.
Can you first go into Bios and load optimized defaults save and exit? Flash BIOS to F7 BIOS. Below download to floppy drive or a fat formatted small USB flash drive. Use Q-FLASH utility which you can find in the BIOS.
    http://download.gigabyte.cn/FileList...xt-ud4p_f7.exe
Then when the BIOS is flashed load optimized defaults again. Then raise voltage on your memory to memory manufacturers specifications. Set the northbridge voltage to 1.4V. In order to get that Phenom II 550 X2 to unlock stable to X3 or X4 you could need to ad CPU vcore voltage, and CPU NB VID, a little before unlocking. Try raising them the same amount. About +0.050. or +0.075 above normal. You still may not be able to unlock though. There is some that wont unlock properly. So no guaranty

    You did'nt get the bios?

I prefer a floppy when flashing, but if you do not have one use a small 256MB to 2GB USB flash drive. Larger than that some will and some won't.
