So i guess im ready to do some overclocking where do i start?
I see the HS retention kit is the same I had with CNPS8700 which I immediatly broke the little L piece that locks it and had to improvise a substitute from a paper clip. I had no problem with the screws though.

Save the settings and make somebaseline benchmark.
I think 400FSB would be just right to begin with.
Before you change it, set all voltages except references manually to their suggested values (those you haven't changed yet) or the target values in EasyTyne that should be the same. Also set PCI Erxpress frequency to 100.
Set 400FSB with low CPU Ratio, even underclocking the CPU to get stable memory settings. Select new memory multiplier. Static tRead increase is probably needed, and maybe more MCH Core, what's it's value now?
Sometimes 400FSB does not work, you can try 401/399 unstead.
When memory is stable you can increase CPU Ratio that would likely need more VCore.
    Keep an eye on temps.

Oh and post some settings to refresh our memory.

I didnt use the L retention peice i used the one that just lays of the middle of the HS and screws into the black plastic two screws and one metal peice, seems like it would be very hard to break it haha. I think i know what peice your talking about i was worried why i had an extra 2 metal parts haha

ill attempt 400FSB in a few minutes

I did not have that option. It was an "OEM" package, this probably "fell out the box" LOL or this HS don't have this option.

can i splice two fans onto one fan header, only one of the sys_fan headers have speed control so my case gets extremly loud when i plug my other one in.
Yes im taking the OCing very slow sorry

Personally I wouldn't recommend connecting more than one fan per header. For any extra fans, the ideal solution is an adapter to connect them to a 4 pin molex PSU connector. You can buy ones with three outputs on the same adapter, a 12V plug a 7V plug (using 12V as positive and 5V as ground, 12V - 5V = 7V) and 5V. You can also buy various in line resistors to use in conjunction with a normal 12V molex adapter. 9V, 7V and 5V are common choices.

Running a fan on 7V can reduce noise dramatically, while still maintaining decent air flow.

is there anyway to lower the speed without purchasing anything?

No. I certainly wouldn't recommend you splice wires tc.

The adapters we're talking about cost a couple of pounds/dollars, they're not expensive. Try somewhere like Radioshack/Maplins or an online specialist.
