    Default Another E8400.

    I'm willing to bet there has been over 50+ of these posts, but after visiting GigaBytes forums, and these, I'm realized I'm stuck. I recently purchased an E8400 with GB EP45-UD3R board. G.Skill PC8500 2x2gb ram with a Centurion Master case, and an Article Cooler 7 Fan. I was able to get the computer to run 5+ house with Orthos on 4.0mhz but once I attempt to run the RAM one it fails about 10 min into it. I'm not sure where to go, and I really have no desire to overclock passed this. I don't have all 100% of my infomation with me, but I think I have the key parts. I also purchased a BFG Nvidia 9800GT if that helps anything.


    In the BIOS my vcore is defaulted to 1.300. Most of the forums that I've checked have people below this, but I think my chip just runs hot. If anybody has any pre-defined settings that will work, I'd be more then greatful. I know that each chip/board is different, but I'm willig to do what it takes to get it to work. If I'm not mistaken, I think when I got the 4.0ghz stable, I had it 36c idle, and a max of 58c when it was underload. I think it's the ram timings that is causing me issues. I will mainly use the computer to play WoW, and maybe Aion when it is released. I'll do simple coding stuff for school, but I don't think that will stress the ram much.

    I don't know anything about the E8400 and its specs..ie speed, fsb multiplier. Fill out this generic template and I bet some one will be along to help. Also if you can put your system specs in your signature it would help people help you.

    Run CPU-Z, click the about tab and then Registers dump, the VID is the one before last under Processors Information.
    If that's what it is then that's what it is, there is probably a reason. Templates for CPUs with lower VID are likely not to work for you.

    That's TCase or Tjunction? What were they taken with?
    No too bad temps for 4GHz under full load, depending what that load is.
