    Default X58 UD4P & quadfire?

Hey all, should i expect any issues with a couple 4850x2's in quadfire on this board??? My current MSI Platinum refuses to run 2 of the cards correctly in crossfe, but single cards fine...

Sorry I didn't see this thread earlier or I would have responded.

As you have found out, CrossfireX is definitely OK on this board. If I'd have posted before you bought both cards I'd have recommended you get a 4850 X2 and a single 4850 to run in triple Crossfire. The performance is within 10 FPS in most games compared to four GPU's, and the money saving is nice. If building a new system, having a little more to spend on the monitor for example makes a better system than 4 GPU's.

Did you go for the 2GB version of the 4850? Again, in a lot of games, with texture res set really high and loads of AA, 512MB of frame buffer per GPU isn't really enough. This factor comes into play at resolutions of 1920x1200 and upwards. Many think that it's OK, because the actual cards have 1GB of VRAM, but it's the ammount of RAM availible to each individual GPU that counts.

That's a great build. Nice and tidy too.

Yeah, i got the 2gb cards, also runnin a 26" monitor. Had the cards from my previous 775 setup, they can definatly handle anything that is thrown @ em. Downside is that Sapphire's RMA is just rediculous to deal with. That, and the XSPC blocks i got for em killed 2 sets of cards... Needless to say, these cards have been a learning experiance....
