    hi art,
thanks for the link, now a question, actually a couple.
will i notice any difference in ddr2 vs ddr3 ram? i am using 2 gigs of ddr3 8500 in current machine.
and while i have you, any advantage in switching to 10600 from 8500. meaning a "noticeable" difference. i am guessing not that much but i really dont know.
    thanks in advance.

You are correct I believe if you get the low voltage DDR3 ram you will notice a difference. The board I linked you to is better though because you can crossfirex it. But if I recall you prefer Geforce and you cannot SLI the board I linked you to so you will be better served with the single PCIE board. You selected a better match than the one I linked you to.

    hi art,
i do like that board you linked me to, remember video is not as important on this build, but the ram question, ddr2 vs ddr3, probably a small difference in performance???
one i would barely notice??? task will include editing pictures, burning dvds, watching movies, and general use. no gaming or video editing.
    very nice score there phenom2dude....

Here is one for 2 dollars more. It supports DDR3. Also it's anchored with the AMD785G northbridge, and AMDSB710 Southbridge. DDR3 is faster and you will be future proofing. If I had the choice I would get this one. You saw my score with a Phenom and DDR2 The Phenom2 and DDR3 is faster. You can still unlock it if need be and the voltage adjustment range is much broader than the ones with DDR2.

    hi art,
i like what i am reading, thanks for the point. seems to have everything i'm looking for and the price is right too.
    hi phenomdude,
if im not mistaken, ddr3 is the only ram our boards use, have you overclocked yours yet? just up the multiplier 2 full points to get 3.5ghz. from 15.5 to 17.5x as i recall but not positive. no doubt you will bust my score with your faster ram....
