Try a 19x multi and a higher blck. turn turbo off. set the mem multi to 6x and uncore multi to 12x or 13x

    I also have the C0 chip, closest i get to 3.8 is 21x180 which is 3.780 or 19x200 =3.8

Thats the code i always get, the 124 . My mobo is limited to 1.5 qpi, and even upon maxing it out, i still get the code when trying to do use 200x19 = 3.8ghz .

YES , u can lower your vcore, but leave it as it is for now.

    Turn the HT off.

Boost you ram voltage to 1.65v at least for now.

dont worry bout the 3.8ghz right now. You need to worry bout whats causing the high temps.

    *Vcore/QPI=1.3
    *HT=OFF
    *Ram set to DDR3-1320

Same as above except I also set the DRAM to 1.64V

I think the most important thing to note for both of these tests is that they lasted through the whole test! At 3.8GHZ it would crash as soon as it started to load the cool down tests.

I am not sure where to go now or what this means in the grand scheme of overclocking but I agree to be your guiniea pig dbee........atleast for now

I could be going out on a whim here dbee but maybe its our ram thats giving us all these problems?? It can't be our motherboards faults because we both have different ones and are experiencing the same problems. It's not the core i7 C0 because others have preached success so maybe it is the ram. Ugh, I really don't want to shell out like $200 for corsair dominator though :/

EDIT: I'm Prime 95ing (on blend mode) these settings why I anxiously await your replies.

I turned on HT and used the settings I used in the screen shots earlier except during mid cool down I got the BSOD with error 124.

MULTITHREADING SHOULD BE OFF. It may be called HT in a different bios.

You are not my guinea pig lol, i was a guinea pig and am still alive. these are tried, trusted and true rock hard settings. Again, we have diff mobo's, and not all cpu's are created equal.

the 165x21 should be 10000% stable with low voltage, like way below stock, around 1.2

ok i see you turned the HT off, but just put it back on. So it pretty much BSOD upon the cool down test?

as LSDMEASAP taught me, dont be afraid of the qpi voltage going into the pink numbers in bios. as long as it is within 0.5v of the RAM voltage , you should be safe.

Try not doing the cool down test. see what happens. Check your mobo bios version which can be found in cpu-z, as well as ur prime and cpuz versions.

Bump your qpi up a couple notches. I am sort of in the same situation as you, once i take my clock to 200x19=3.8, it'll load nicely, start prime and fail. Wants more qpi. I give it all the bios it will allow , but dont work.

Now, using 21x180 will give you 3.780ghz. Different multi-clock combos can yield significantly different results . you just need to find what works with your config.
