Thread: POST i7 CORE TEMPS HERE!!!

Well about the 2 of the 4 cores being as cold as the CPU - well I have no idea if that is normal. Right now after I have been gaming and I am typing this smoking a ciggy and the temps have gone down - I get same results.

CPU is 32 and cores are 33,33,38,38.

About my GPU temps well that is because of my Accelero Extreme 280 mounted on my 285 GTX.

Here is how my rig looks. Remember I have changed so that I use a Noctua at bottom and that Ultra Kaze on top and still a Scythe flex in the middle of my CPU cooler.

    My rig:

    Hey Poul,

I don't think it is normal, but it's great (I meant it in a good way ^^). I wish I had an abnormally cool running CPU :)
Nice system, and I can't believe how cool that accelero keeps your 285 as well....

    Hey

Here is a picture of load 100% with default settings in BIOS.

Quite good with HT on I think. Room temperature is about 20 degrees here in the evening.

And here in one with 1.43 vcore set in BIOS. I need that much vcore to get it stable when running prime95. It will be 1-2 degrees hotter if I had it run for like 10 min more.

If I set a bit lower BCLK I would not need this much vcore and perhaps I will do that, because it will be too expensive in the long run I think.

Room temperature again about 20 degrees.

Google IFX 14 , thats the design of the heatsink- it is only one, real sweet though - you could fit 3 fans to it.

ok, I have been looking through this thread just to get some ideas for what is normal for temperatures. I followed the Gigabyte tutorial to get my
i7-920 D0 up to 4Ghz and everything seems stable but the temperatures
from Real Temp worry me when running Prime95. Idle temps are about 50 - 52 but Prime95 made them climb to 98 after a couple minutes. Interestingly, the computer did not shut down or go blue screen. With typical use I don't see my temps get above 70 but compared to other people posting here, even 70 seems really high. About my system:

    GA-EX58-UD3R Rev 1.6
    BIOS FD7
Scythe Infinity SCINF-100 with 1366 adapter
    Coolmax CTI-700B 700W
    Corsair TR3X6G1600C8
    Core I7-920
    133x20, QPI 36, Uncore 13, SPD 6
    Vcore 1.4, QPI 1.515, IOH 1.32, DRAM 1.6

If I try to get the memory to run at 1600,
the system won't boot so I am stuck at 1200
    but happy about 4GHz.

So, keeping in mind that I am a novice at overclocking
and cooling, any ideas on the temperature? Should
I be worried about the 98 I got in Prime95 if I never
put that kind of load on the CPU under typical use?

Thanks for your advice and patience!
