In my signature you will find the link to all the BIOS Templates, on that page there is all three BSOD Codes in the X58 Template. Just so you know if you need to find it later on.

Sounds like your brothers GFX Card is maybe bad? Did you test your card in his setup? Is his ok at stock?

Looser timings is only going to help stabilize your memory and hinder performance, it wont help with the CPU as much as you are thinking.

I think you just are afraid to use volts maybe where you need to.

Be sure you are using the latest BIOS for your board as older ones have compatibility issues with some memory which may include your causing tight timings to not work.

Your clock interval error, no BSOD Code on that screen? Could mean you need more MCH Voltage, give me your full settings later on that are failing for you and I will advise back.

dont recall the error code , but its a message i do not see often. maybe only once or twice. I will post my settings using your template tonite LSD . i shall read up on MCH , for now though , my bros machine is identical to mine settings and all. only difference is the case to mobo leads like case fans to fan headers and the top usb ports . His GFX card is fine, plays tons of COD and other graphic intensive games flawlessly. He's just stuck at the wall i previously was . ill see if i can make my machine give me that error again and jot down the code.

As for my rig, i keep getting the qpi too low/too high error . upping it a couple notches got me to the 3.990 . So i would assume its not too high. We'll see later. Thanks again!

on a side note, i'd just like to mention something about i've read before regarding which initial display to set the bios at, it defaults to PCI, when its on PCI, the monitor will be on, switch off, then come back on.

And im sure its switching off since i've seen black screens before. Switching it to PCI express 2.0 1 or 2 , whichever ur vid card is in reduced my bootup times hugely.

Just thought i should bring it up since someone said before IT SIMPLY DOES NOT MATTER. it doesnt in a sense, but it does matter if you want to startup ALOT quicker for anyone that wasnt sure about this.

Yes you should set PCIE 1 not PCI, unless you are using PCI.

So your brothers system runs, just wont boot at certain blck or what? Sorry I help so many people and not sure who has what issues. Of course between your comments and your brothers issues as well I am not too sure now either about what's what.

If you want go ahead and make separate threads for your issues and his, I wont mind and it may help keep things clear and separated

Here is a picture of my latest attempt to shave off some degrees. Now running 59 C under Prime95 with a C0 is pretty damn impressive. I used another Scythe Ultra Kaze on my Thermalright IFX-14 CPU cooler and it sure makes some difference. On this setup I used a Scythe Ultra as push and a Scythe (not sure of its name 1400 rpm) as pull/push and again a Scythe Ultra as pull on top. There is no room left for a 3rd Ultra in the middle of the heat sinks - damn would have been fun to see what that would do for temperatures. Room temperature was around 21 C running this test.

Not bad after all and I was able to only use 1.38 vcore in BIOS which came out as 1.36 from CPU-Z, maybe it would have BSOD after an hour who knows but that amount of stress is not needed for gaming anyway.

Yes LSD, his is doing what mine used to . til all you helpful tweakers helped me out , now i know what to do. This weekend he's gonna clear out the mess of wires and tuck them behind the mobo , then disconnect case to mobo leads, only using the cpu fan header.

My bro's can get past the bios screen , but then goes black and windows dont load. This is only when using 170+ bclk. He has to hard reset when it does that. So for now he just said forget it , he dont like messing with things for hours as i do .

My issues are pretty much solved THANKS! you dudes are awesome. I can go higher than 3.990 , just need more qpi voltage. And i only intend to pass the 4.0 to know my chip can do it.

As of last nite , i ran prime for 4 or 5 hours at 3.705 (195X19) using 1.36vcore,1.36qpi. Last error message i recieved was not enough qpi voltage, so i bumped that up one and am now working my vcore down. Oh Yeah.

I would like to see how much i can take the voltage down since i know now the qpi voltage was an issue and now is not.

POUL, that is a beautiful sight . Yea i dont think stressing that long is necessary myself. Once i find a good spot ill stress it for 20 tests of prime small ffts and thats it. It just takes too much time. If i were to stress every OC for 8,12,24 hours i would never have time to actually use my machine ya know.

On another note, as i mentioned about SLI'ing , it worked pretty cool. Brought my core temps up about 5 degrees at idle , but gpu temps didnt seem to suffer much- idled around 45 and maxed around 65. However , my EVGA precision tool was trippin and would not display GPU temps as it usually does. I googled it and saw some other people with the same problem. Anyways i was only interested in seeing how much more heat it would make in the system overall and how much better it would run Fallout 3 .

I usually play on HIGH settings with 4AA and 8AF with vsync on, and the .ini file modded to fix that dirty little microstutter and get no lag, except for some reason in the rivet city marketplace.

I'm using Windows 7 32 bit until I can save enough money to buy some 2GB ram sticks. Will I have trouble acheiving the same overclocks with a 64 bit OS?

i wouldn't think so, but maybe poul or LSD could answer that a lil better. Only real difference i see with 32 bit to 64 is amount of ram recognized.
