My N650's cold start problem is no more.
My system was completely stable using 2x1GB of high performance 800MHz memory, but had cold start issues.
Installing my 2x2GB 1066MHz memory with minor MCH Core and Dram volt changes has NO PROBLEM booting from a cold start.

It might be worthwhile testing a different brand/model of memory.

OK . I've changed PSU , for "no name" 500W and problem is gone ( I hope) . Looks like my 2.5 years old Tacens is in some way broken or incompatibile with mobo . During weekend I'm goning to disasemble this PSU and chceck capacitors ... now I must figure how to configure suspend modes in bios and in Vista x64 ... . In future I need to change yhis no-name PSU for sth. better I know :-]

Crucial Ballistix (2.2 volt) PC2-6400 2x1GB: Fully stable, but now have cold boot problems.

Mushkin XP2-8500 (996599) PC2-8500 2x2GB: Fully stable and no cold boot issues.
Glad to see that you're making progress.

note: I've seen that some memory manufacturers state that some models are NOT recommended with any 680 mobo's.
If you're going to buy new memory, check with the memory manufacturer's tech support to verify which models or capacity is guaranteed to work with your mobo.

Nice to see you seemed to have found the issue!

PSU is something you never want to skimp on, glad you seemed to have narrowed it down to this

Sorry to not be more specific, the board was not made to handle Quad's mine had issues with the Q6600 or rather it would not over clock at all with mine(though they claim there are no guaranties for over clocking with it). They did release a bios up date, but never knew if it fixed the issue.
Many newer boards have issues with PSU, it is very common with the X58 boards. Not to say the PSU are not good just that certain combo's of boards and PSU seem to be in compatible google it to see.....Same with memory, I had good success with G-skills and that board.

HardwareSecrets is an excellent site for detailed reviews. While their psu reviews go into excruciating detail that only an electronics geek could love, they give each unit a thorough evaluation and make it easy to determine if it passes muster in all the critical areas.
This link is to a list of all their psu reviews. After reading their review of the Antec EarthWatts 500, it was a no brainer for me to buy it when I found it on sale last year.

Let us know how you make out with your new psu.
