    Cool I'll download intel burn test first. when I was looking at the readme, it says that its extremely stressfull for my cpu and use at your own risk cause I can burn up my cpu or motherboard, so that worries me, is it safe to do? I dont OC I just have stock speeds.

    I run Win XP Pro 32bit also, not sure if thats a problem. Since it recommends a 64bit OS

    there is a chance you could harm your cpu/motherboard with Intel Burn Test (IBT) or LinX but the chance is unlikely at stock speeds. If you have ran Prime95 what ever your max temp you got from that these 2 programs will be about 10-20c hoter depending on speed and the cooler that you are using. Make sure you are monitoring your temps with realtemp. 32 bit is ok just wont be able to access all 4gb or more of ram unless you have a 64 bit os.

    Well just a little update, my computer randomly freezes in windows still, whether I'm just in the desktop or playing a game. I ran 3DMark 06 and it froze the first time I ran it, then ran it 2 more times and didnt freeze.

    Sometimes I also have windows randomly saying that my Windows Firewall is disabled and I try and enable it and it wont let me until I restart my computer. And also some things on my desktop I want to delete, when I try to delete them an error comes up and says that its not allowed to be deleted, but when I restart windows I can finally delete the program.

    I'm not sure why I'm getting this stuff, especially the freezing randomly, As I stated above I ran Memtest86x for 12 hours with 20 passes and no errors. So, anyone know if there is something else going on, or is it maybe the same thing with the ram that I started this thread for?

    Could you post your current settings along with a screen campture of MemSet main and spd window (click "spd" button) and EasyTune advanced voltage tab.
    Aslso put your system spec and a link to your memory in your signature

    As well as your settings, please let us know if it's IBT stable. It's not a dead cert that you're 100% stable f it passes, but if 10 runs and Memtest both pass then the problem is either a minor hardware setting or is software related.

    A corrupt install isn't the first thing that comes to mind, but it's possible.

    As conners suggested, backing up all data and doing a full re-install may help eliminate it as a factor. You could download and try the Windows 7 Release candidate. It's 100% stable and a pleasure to use. I personally prefer it over XP (personal taste) and find it 100 times better than Vista ever was, even with SP1 installed.

    Ok so I ran memtest86+ again for 19 hours and 31 passes all with no errors. I have not ran Intel Burn Test yet,because I'm afraid that I will fry something >< But maybe I should anyway.

    Something interesting about my OS when I installed it. I was having problems trying to install WinXP pro on my new build, when I booted from CD it went right to the windows setup screen, started loading everything and then before it got to the format or repair windows screen I got BSOD that said STOP ERROR in PCI.sys. After asking around, it turned out that I have the original XP pro install disk with no SP's on it and you need WinXP SP2 or later install disk for it to work. So, i then found out how to slipstream SP3 into WinXP install disk and made a new one. I then was able to install windows on the new cd, but install of OS seemed a little slow, not sure why. Wasnt sure If this could be a possible cause for all this?

    Anyway, here is all my info, including specs in my signature, the full BIOS template filled out and a screenshot of Memset and Easy Tune.

    Just how slow was this XP install? You very well could have done something wrong or removed something depending on how you slipstreamed the cd. XP install should take around 30-45 minutes, depending on the system and speed
