Default crossfire problem on ga x48 dq6

    Allright, here is the problem.

After rma'ing my ga x48 dq6 for a broken transistor i got my mobo repaired and all back. When everything was in place i fired it up to see that my monitor gets no signal. I have 2x 512mb 4870 in crossfire.

So i checked if all the power cords where placed correctly. I came to the conclusion that everything was correct, and that the crossfire bridge was placed(also tried another one). So i thought i'll check both cards seperate in both pci slots.

To my surprise both cards worked individually in both slots as they should.
I formatted and installed a fresh copy of win and the new catalyst drivers.
When paired in crossfire only one gpu is showing in the device manager.
Before the rma it always worked out of the box. Even after oc'ing.

The problem is that nobody near me has an crossfire board to check the cards. My mind is saying that there is one faulty card, but the mobo is something to consider aswell. Infact i'm a little lost here.

1 more thing, gpu-z shows nothing but everest shows both cards.

Did you enable Crossfire in CCC? Sorry you did not mention that so I thought I better ask.

Can you tell me what BIOS you are using? I know it worked for you in the past so it should now, but maybe they gave you a older board back with a different BIOS. I'd advise the latest of course

crossfire doesn't show up in ccc. It is the same board. I'īv had f8e as bios and today flashed back to f8d. Unfortunately no result.

It doesn't show up, or isn't enabled? Just trying to be sure.

Have you, after installing both cards, reinstalled the latest ATI Drivers? You said it shows both cards in everest, does it appear like this? I guess not though right since No Xfire in CCC right? >>>

Do both cards also show in CCC, and do they both have the right specs core/ram speed, ect?

What resistor did you break previously? And are you sure it was replaced or is on the replacement board? Just wanting to try and verify the board parts are all there :)

Without another board to test on, I would be unsure which would be to blame between the board or the cards. You need to find a friend or store maybe that will test your cards for you to be sure. I'd lean towards the board since both cards are functioning alone.

In Integrated Peripherals BIOS page, can you check to be sure Init First Display is set to PEG, if it is not please do so and retest things.

You may also want to try adding some PCIE Voltage to see if that matters.

Both cards are plugged into your PSU securely right? Just checking to be sure

Here is a troubleshooter you may need to try the no crossfireX Tab in CCC. That's if you have no crossfireX tab. Your system is unknown to me, but there is a section for XP CrossfireX Users, this may be your answer: as well.
