The E6700 is 65nm B2 stepping with TJmax of 80c I wouldn't go near 70c, it better be kept below 65c.
This is the board MIT settings.

As mentioned any of the 45nm chips are a good choice and they all preform awesomely. So Anything E8*** or Q9*** would be totaly sick as.

Agreed, but not 7xxx and I really don't recommend a Q9300/9400 either. I'd say that should be said as anything 8400 and above and Q9550 and above, E3110 is also a great Dual Core choice as is the X3350/X3360

Yeah well as previosly state by me I kinda ment anything E8400 or up and Q9550 Or up as then with the quad you are pretty much nearly certain you will get an E0 Stepping and you do get 12mb Cache which is good.

Thanks for all the help and Info. I’m not going to pretend I understand it all (just some of it). I have tried to overclock my E6700, but I’ve had no luck so far. If I alter anything, my computer re-boots several times, not even getting to the BIOS stage, and then boots as normal with the E6700 still running at 2.66Ghz.
    <o:p> </o:p>
I must be doing something wrong.
    <o:p> </o:p>
My M.I.T. is slightly different. Take a look here:-

    <o:p> </o:p>
Can any one see anything fundamentally wrong?
    <o:p> </o:p>
I’ll have another go this evening. If not, then I’ll buy either the E8600 or the Q9650. Which brings me back to my original post…

First set Performance Enhance to standard.
When you change CPU Host Frequency you need to adjust memory multiplier to keep the memory near it's spec speed.
For CPU Host frequensy 300 try 2.50A or 2.40B those will keep RAM slightly underclocked, you may also try 2.66C/D whichever of all of those is most stable. Setting Static tRead Value to a higher value may also be needed.
CPU Ratio of 9 will give you slight overclock to 2.7GHz for a start. A small increase in CPU Voltage might be needed.
Remember that temperatures increase as you overlock so you may need a better CPU heatsink, but those don't come near the price of a new processor.
Whatever settings work or do not work as you are making progress feel free to post them using the template from this post for other people to review them.
