I forgot to mention that the test of intel burn test I did at maximum stress
And it can read the 20 passes is the least that one does to others recommend up to 50 processor
But good as the first thing he said was attempted with these voltages to 3.8 do not know if I can get down to lower temperatures

10 passes will be enough as its a very stressful program,it will fail the test if a BIOS setting isn't right, try with 1.35v CPU voltage, leave qpi/vtt voltage and try 10 runs

try these voltages because my i7 C0 is vercion and requires more voltage
but anyway I will try today but the voltages down to improve the temperature
now with the intel burn test test this well with 10 past and maximum stress?

I would recommend using LinX instead has it is updated more often. Same program just different layout.

For quick test 10 runs are good. For full stable no more then 20. Both test at Max memory. Any more and could risk degrading the cpu.

To lower temps you may need to invest in better air cooler or consider water cooling. C0 stepping cpus require more volts and run hotter. Also if you have multi threading enabled. you disabled that to lower temps. Unless you really need those extra threads.

good I bent the voltages this was what I did with 10 spent ones from the intel burn test
temp 78 to 81 10 spent ones intel burn test vcore 1.39 vtt1.320
    vcore 1.38 and vtt 1.28 ERROR 124
    VCORE 1.381 AND VTT 1.300 ERROR 124
I believe that that the first thing that I did is the stablest thing since I came to 80 to full if someone can say something more I believe that he will consider it to be stable

    Greetings folks!

I am coming back to tweaking my Gigabyte EX58-UD4P (with i7-920 D0) after almost 2 years of just running it at stock (actually underclocked).
It's going to take me some time to go through all the posts about this board, but I just wanted to follow up on a few things:

    - I'm currently at BIOS F10d. Stay with that or upgrade? I'd like to overclock it to 3.2GHz, not more than that.

    - I have a new Hyper 212 Plus with fresh MX-3 installed, I did that the same time I cleaned all the dust (2 years worth)

    My other components/settings:

Turbo is ON so my CPU speed shows up as 2800mhz.
    RAM: G.SKILL F3-12800CL9T-6GBNQ x 3
    Video: GTX 560 Ti
    Ambient temp: 22-23 degrees C
    OS: Win7 Home Premium

    I did a quick Prime95 torture test for 40 minutes, My temps in Realtemp are: 64-65 (back and forth) / 60-61 / 61-62 / 61-62

It should be easy for 3.2ghz,leave everything enabled
Set dram voltage to what's printed on your ram, either 1.5v or 1.66v
    Set bclk to 21x153
Set spd mem multi to 10x
    Set uncore freq to 21x
Set CPU voltage to "normal" setting
Try with 1.28v qpi/vtt voltage, may need more so need to test

Up to you to update BIOS,could try settings with current BIOS first

just wondering, how would i enter 21 for multiplier? i though i could only enter values up to 20 (i7-920).

And re: BIOS, I'm just scared to upgrade BIOS for no reason, you know causing something to break and all that.

It won't break if you use qflash and a Usb stick in fat32,some bios's let you enter 21x and some only 20x,for 20x it means 20x and 1x including Intel turbo boost, either case Intel turbo boost needs to be enabled
