    @wazza300 Great, I understand now thank you. My cpu cooler is in my sig. I have QPI Link Speed to x44 do you think I need to change it to x36? I believe my current bios is on this page or one before. Although I won't be using full ram but OC'ing cpu will I take a performance hit or does the OC on the cpu make up for it? Yes ram is currently at 1600mhz.

    leave it as it is for now, cant you set cpu bclk to match ram? but if you dont want to overclock that high just use lower ram multi

    @wazza300 Thank you, your advice helped me a lot. I believe I have a solid 3.6 OC now. I ran some stress test and all is well. During the stress test I had a few minor and quick freezes. I think it's due to my Raid 1 doing a volume check because of BSOD while testing voltages. I'm always a little laggy when that happens. I think some things just load slower because of the volume check. If it was a real issue I don't think I would pass. Can anyone confirm if my theory is correct? Also only 1c increase in temperature (I'm extremely shocked by this). If I missed anything I should have adjusted please let me know.

    I do have a few questions I hope someone can answer for me please. The only voltage I adjusted was CPU Vcore.
    1) Should I not touch the QPI/VTT?
    2) Voltage for my ram is untouched but it's at 1440 now, is that ok?
    3) Any noticeable performance decrease from 1600 to 1440?
    4)Can I get 1600 back with my current OC?

    Thank you for the tips! With a lot of research,help,stress tests and tweaking I ended up going with a 3.8 oc. I was able to get my ram to 1600 specs (Which is why I bought it) and I'm very happy. OC is stable. Temps are 36c-40c idle and 50c-55c full load (Depending on ambient temps) I can't thank everyone enough for all of the insight.     Nice to see you are all stable and up and running! Settings look good, you can try Uncore x18 for a performance bump but you would likely need to raise QPI/Vtt and IOH maybe

    Howdy, after mulling over all this awesome info I've decided to ask for some assistance to try and lower my temps and possibly increase my clock.

    I am not interested in obtaining a crazy clock only to also get insane temperatures. It can get quite hot here and my PC will be used for video encoding, it will be running at full load for hours on end so I want to keep below 70c on an ambient temp of 25c or so.

    The only reason the QPI/VTT Voltage is 1.165 is because I forgot to set it to 1.150!

    Machine seem to run stable and hasn't caused a hicup yet.

    I would like to lower my temp's by 5-10c on full load if I can or raise my clock without raising my temps. The BIOS lists my system temp as 45c, CPU temp as 31c & MCH Temp as 48c. I built an exactly the same system at the same time and the other system is a good 5-10c cooler :(

    Any suggestions??

    Well you can't really overclock more without raising temps :)

    As for getting them lower, you may be able to use less Vcore but you would need to lower and test

    I would assume from looking at your settings and specs that this setup is not stable at all, you need more IOH and QPI/Vtt for that speed and timings, and 12GB. So really temps will need to go up if you want to actually be stable
