    Default EP45-UD3P Random ShutDown.

Hey there, Thanks in advance for your help. I have seen people are very helpful on these forums.

Heres my problem. This is a Brand Spanking new UD3P Motherboard. The reason i switched from an Evga 780 ftw and asus striker extreme 680 is because i have been having sata controller problems with them which they are notorious for. So i switched to this motherboard and the problems seem to vanish and new a new one appeared.

The first time i put all the components together every thing seemed to work flawlessly. Then after about 2 hours the PC shut down on me. Looked at event viewer in computer management and there was nothing logged. Weird i said to myself. So i Googled the mishap and came upon this forum. Read through a couple Posts and this one caught my eye.

    http://forums.tweaktown.com/f69/prob...ectedly-28793/

So i followed the directions of Disabling CPU Enhanced Halt (C1E) and CPU EIST Function which seemed to help the guy out. But after about 30 min of working the pc shut down on me again.

I tried using the 2x2 ram in slot 2 and 4 instead of 1 and 3 because i heard slots 1 and 3 are troublesome and that didn't help either.

    any ideas? greatly appreciated.

Did you load OPTIMIZED bios settings before you changed and bios settings?
Have you run any extended stability programs (Prime95, OCCT, Orthos, Memtest86+)?

Click on the last line in my signature and copy the P45 bios template into a text editor (e.g. Notepad).
Fill in your bios settings, AUTO or manual entries, and post your settings.
Note: Ignore any bios settings in the template. The first P45 template has comments & suggestions, the second P45 has most comments removed.

If your system isn't overclocked, try the suggested bios settings in this post.

This happen under load or idle?
What is the CPU/CPU cores temperature?
Is the PSU fan working and it's not heating too much?

Sorry for the late response i have been quite busy with other things. Anyway i have taken some pictures of my bios settings figured it would be quicker than filling out the bios template.

To answer some of the questions.
    ProfJim:
I did load the optimized defaults.
I have not used the any of the extended stability programs.
    Chike:
This happens at under stress and when the system is sitting idle. So at any time it could just shutdown on me.

    Cpu Temp is 32c
PSU fan is on and working.

Sorry to be a PITA, but I can't help you without your posting your bios template in text format.
Many of us are helping many members at the same time and it's way too time consuming looking at 7 bios fotos every time I return to your thread.

    Good luck.

I still suspect heat or power problem.
Check both ATX power connectors, see if there's any burned pin and that they are locked properly.
Try to disconnect the two WD hard drives fro the board and PSU.
